This cottage is roomy, clean and pleasantly decorated. The well equipped kitchen is also a plus. Heating and hot water are quick to come on and well appreciated given the rather cool and rainy weather we experienced while there. This cottage is only suitable for a family of three. There is only one toilet combined with the shower room and wash basin. It is based on the very outskirts of Bamburgh village and takes a very good 15 minutes walk along a very busy road to reach the centre of the village and all the services you may require. Eating and drinking establishments areRead more of a very good quality. There is a parking space for a maximum of two cars. A great deal of care is required when leaving the property and entering a busy road with lots of fast moving traffic. The majority of cars do not observe the speed limit of 30mph and instead assume the long straight stretch of road immediately in front of this bungalow is for going as fast as you possibly can. The cottage only affords the minimum of comfort in terms of two small low level sofas in the combined dining area. The entire property is need of some serious TLC and in its current state does not, in our opinion, warrant a Four Star rating. It is definitely overpriced for what you get. Hide

Great location. Not top end cottage despite the price. No dishwasher and other equipment lacking. Comfortable sitting room with multi fuel stove.

The location is great for visiting all areas, although very close to a road. The use of coal and firewood was generous and well utilised, and the secure garden was perfect for our dog

Great location, very easy to get to the beach and a bus stop just outside. Didn't notice the traffic despite being on the roadside. A good enclosed garden for the dog and handy to have your own parking. Property was adequate but could really do with a deep clean.

Bamburgh is lovely and we had a good week at Links Cottage. Our children loved the garden and the parking was a big plus but we were disappointed by the cottage. Facilities: The welcome pack had dishwasher tablets but we couldnt find a dishwasher. No washing up liquid was provided. Toaster is cracked and melted and two slices feels a bit mean. GooRead mored to have a tumble dryer. Upkeep: Beds are uncomfortable and our young son found it hard to sleep. They are overdue for replacement. Flooring is loose in places with sharp edges for bare feet. Hot water in kitchen is very noisy to the extent we couldnt use it when children were sleeping. Cleanliness: The cottage wasnt clean. Plates and glasses were dirty. Lots of dust and dog hair under tables, sofas etc. Tampon wrappers and cotton buds on floor in small bedroom. Location: Road noise was fine but its opposite a busy car park with a seafood van. Great for the beach but check youre ok with the walk into Bamburgh. In fairness it is cheaper than central cottages. The house is in a great location, a 2 minute walk across the sand dunes to Bamburgh beach. The garden is completely enclosed as long as you remember to close the gates. Great for dogs and young children to run around in. We did sit in the garden quite a bit as the weather was good. There is some traffic noise but was not enough to stop us sitting oRead moreut. Easy off road parking for 2 cars as well. Inside the house is in good order and is nicely decorated. The living room is big enough for 4 adults to relax in with comfortable sofas and the kitchen has enough equipment to cook with if you want to. We found the small front porch useful for walking boots/dog stuff/swim stuff and the outside hose a godsend for getting sand off us and the dog! All in all a lovely property in a great location Hide
