With Amble Marina just moments away, this property is ideally placed for seaside adventures, seafood dinners and scenic walks along Northumberland’s breathtaking coastline. Stroll along the waterfront as you watch fishing boats bob along the water or hop on a boat trip to Coquet Island (2 miles), home to a protected colony of puffins and grey seals. For a day at the beach, the golden sands of Amble Sands (800 metres), Druidge Bay, Warkworth Beach and Alnmouth are all within 6.5 miles and perfect for sandcastle building and refreshing coastal walks. History buffs will be itching to explore Alnwick Castle (9 miles), famous for its connections to Harry Potter and where visitors can learn to fly a broomstick before losing themselves in the bamboo labyrinth at Alnwick Garden. Avid walkers are well served, too. Follow the Northumberland Coast Path (joined at Amble Harbour), where rugged cliffs, hidden coves, and sweeping sea views stretch for miles.

Step inside this homely property, where you’ll discover a hallway for hanging up coats and unravelling scarves. To the left is a spacious lounge, which will be the heart of the home during your stay. Gather around the crackling log burner and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate while the rest of the family finds their spot on the deep, comfortable sofas. The sleek kitchen/diner is equipped with everything needed to concoct your tastiest dishes to serve at the solid six-seater dining table. The utility room is a handy feature for holiday washing. Upstairs are three calming bedrooms, each with crisp linens and decorated in soothing hues. There are two king-size bedrooms – one with a Smart TV for long lie-ins – and a charming twin bedroom. Also on this floor is the shared modern bathroom, with a walk-in shower, bath and WC.

Outside is an enclosed yard with a table, chairs and a place to relax in the sunshine. Parking is subject to availability and is located on-street in front of the house (subject to availability). Alternatively, there are nearby car parks.

Beautiful place. High ceilings, spacious, quiet residential street. 5 mins from shops and 10 mins from harbour. Great central location. Beds soooo comfy and so were the sofas. Nice and warm and really well equipped. There was a nice welcome pack which we enjoyed. Things I wish I had known on a practical level: bring loo rolls, dishwasher/ washinRead moreg tablets from home and there is a hairdryer! Love Northumberland and we would stay at this property again. We loved our stay at Little Anchor. It's a great base to explore such a beautiful part of the world. It's really homely and well equipped like you want from a holiday home, but with the fresh white sheets and fluffy towels you expect from a hotel, just the break we needed.

Excellent house, clean and well equipped. Lovely area, not too busy. Some great beaches. Always managed to find parking outside the property.
