This flint cottage, set over two storeys, has been sympathetically renovated to retain traditional charm while adding contemporary style and modern comforts. It’s a great base for couples or small families to explore the beaches and broads of lovely Norfolk. Right next door is the River Bure, and if you bring paddle boards and kayaks you can head out for a few hours on the water. The historic town of Aylsham is just 1 mile away, offering a variety of independent shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes, as well as regular markets and a station on the Bure Valley Railway Line. Hop onto a nostalgic train and puff to Wroxham and back. The Blickling Estate is 2 miles, and Cromer is only 10 miles, with its fabulous beach and variety of attractions. In Wroxham, 13 miles, you can hire a boat for the day and head out on the Broads.

A bright, calm and tranquil ambience throughout makes this appealing cottage exceptionally comfortable and welcoming. Head into the lounge, where warm colours and natural textures invite you to sink into the plush seating and relax. Light the wood burner on a cool evening, and stream your chosen shows on the Smart TV. From here, stroll through to the open-plan kitchen/diner, filled with light from the patio doors to the garden (please note: there is one step down) and a large skylight. In this delightful space, the cook of the holiday will find everything to hand for creating delicious meals, including an electric range cooker, a microwave and a dishwasher. There’s a breakfast bar for morning cuppas and quick snacks, and a dining table for four to sit down to sociable feasts. At the rear of the cottage is a utility room with a washing machine, and a stunning shower room with a large shower and geometric tiles. Upstairs, you’ll find the two bedrooms, both decorated in soft colours and with charming, traditional-style beds: a king-size with ample storage and an ornamental fireplace, and a calm and pretty twin.

For fresh air and basking in the sunshine, garden furniture is provided in the spacious courtyard, which is enclosed by a low wall and some fencing. You’ll have private parking for two cars onsite.

Stone Cottage is the ideal place to stay, in an excellent location for activities & sightseeing & the housekeeper was very helpful with a request. The cottage is comfortable, has a very spacious kitchen/dining area & an extensive & attractive patio for enjoying fine weather. The cottage is also very peaceful, despite being within easy walking distRead moreance of Aylsham town centre & walkers/cyclists/runners have access to a vast network of paths & country lanes right from the doorstep - it was wonderful to see so many deer & hares. Aylsham is perfectly situated between Norwich & the coast & for those who like visiting houses & gardens, there are more in the local area than it's possible to visit in a week. The main bus route is well-served & there are connecting services to a wide area; plenty of heritage railways, too. We had a great week & before the end, had already agreed that we were keen to return. Hide

The perfect location for our North Norfolk adventures! The secure garden was a huge plus for our dogs, giving us total peace of mind. Just a heads-up for future guests: the stairs to the bedroom are very steep (classic cottage style!), but having the bathroom downstairs worked well for us. A lovely, cozy base.

A lovely cottage which was very clean and presented to a high standard. The kitchen was well equipped and beds were comfortable with good quality bedding and towels. The cottage was well located for exploring the surrounding area and positioned close to Aylsham town centre. Would gladly stay again.

An absolutely gorgeous cottage only a fifteen minute walk to the town yet in such a peaceful and picturesque setting, beautifully appointed, a great kitchen diner which was really well equipped, a super cosy lounge with a log burner and really comfy beds, all immaculately clean. Well be back, thanks.

As mentioned in previous reviews, the stairs are very steep, so couldnt recommend if you have mobility issues. The cottage is beautifully furnished throughout and very well equipped. The owner was extremely helpful with a small issue we had and she was very friendly.

Lovely well equipped cottage in good location. Everything done to a high specification. Narrow steep stairs to bedrooms and narrow access drive to cottage but we managed OK. Good parking area.

One of the best cottages we have been to in a long time. Everything you needed had been thought of, and the beds were very comfortable.. The only thing that could be a problem was the stairs were quite steep for anyone with mobility problems. We would most certainly use this charming cottage again.

It's lovely when a property exceeds expectation, but this one really does. Clean, comfortable and presented to a very high standard, we immediately felt at home. Spotlessly clean with everything we needed for a relaxing long weekend. Ideal quiet location on the edge of the village for walking to the shops and pubs or a more rural walk overlookinRead moreg the river. Blickling Hall was very close and it's a short drive to the north and east coast and The Broads. Recommend Horsey Gap to see seals. Hide
