For a Scottish break with your beloved (or a peaceful solo trip), stay at this cosy retreat for two, set on a welcoming working farm. You’ll be around 1 mile from the village of Crossmichael where you’ll find a handy shop and a friendly local pub serving up delicious food. For a little more bustle, Castle Douglas – Scotland’s famed ‘food town’ – is 4.5 miles away, packed with independent shops, local produce and quality gifts. Water lovers will be well catered for here, with the wonderful Loch Ken visible from the farm and accessible in Parton, 3 miles away. Whether you’re into fishing, wild swimming or paddleboarding, there’s plenty on offer, with the Galloway Activity Centre (6.5 miles) promising an action-packed day by (or in) the loch.

On arrival, you’ll step straight into an inviting open-plan space combining lounge, kitchen and dining. A neutral colour scheme with contemporary furnishings and artwork creates an interior that’s stylish and modern. On chilly evenings, light up the bioethanol burner to keep you warm.
