Or head into Matlock Bath (2.5 miles), known affectionately as ‘Little Switzerland’, to ride its famous cable car up to the Heights of Abraham, where you’ll be rewarded with breath taking views over the Derwent Valley.

Step inside this impressive stone cottage and you’ll be greeted by a cosy lounge with comfy sofas and a roaring wood burner set in an open fireplace. Gather here after days of Peak District adventure, flicking on the Smart TV or planning the next day’s itinerary. When it’s time to eat, head to the well-appointed kitchen/diner.
