Property code: OC-S30736

This imaginative restoration of an old granite building, thought to have been the stables for the former vicarage in Pendeen, offers a delightful holiday base for a family or friends sharing. Sleeping four guests, it is just 1.5 miles from the coast in a designated national landscape. Explore this spectacular region along the South West Coast Path and uncover some of the many ancient sites and stone circles such as Men-an-Tol and Lanyon Quoit on the moorland above Pendeen. A half-mile walk from the village brings you to atmospheric Geevor Tin Mine, set high on the clifftop. You can tour the workings both above and below ground in this last-surviving example of an intact, 20th-century Cornish tin mine. Head to picturesque St Ives (10 miles) to enjoy glorious golden beaches, craft shops, the Tate St Ives and other galleries, or visit Marazion (12.5 miles) to see the famous St Michael’s Mount.

Enter the hideaway via electric gates and then through an impressive, castellated stone arch. Inside, you’ll find a bright and airy open-plan living space that combines the lounge, kitchen and diner. This social heart of the property features exposed stone walls, apex-style ceilings and double-aspect doors to the peaceful patio. Unwind in the lounge space after days of Cornish adventure, sinking into the contemporary furnishings while the Smart TV streams your favourite shows. When stomachs start to rumble, find that the well-appointed kitchen boasts everything you need, including an electric range oven, to cook up memorable holiday meals. Gather at the dining table inside to enjoy the chef’s work, or dine alfresco out in the garden when the weather permits. At the end of each busy day away, retire to a choice of two sumptuous bedrooms – a master double with an en-suite shower room, and a further double that sits on a mezzanine level. Completing the interior is a well-equipped family bathroom featuring a jacuzzi-style bath for those indulgent, post-walk soaks.

Outside, the gravelled patio is a lovely spot to enjoy the peace and seclusion of your holiday home, with stylish outdoor furniture and a BBQ setting the scene for evening tipples and al fresco meals together. Guests will also find private parking for up to two cars.

We really enjoyed staying at the stables - the property is beautifully decorated and pristine. There were just two of us, so we had plenty of room. We were provided with everything we needed. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the surroundings were restful and calming, with a sense of the history of the property. I loved the eco friendlRead morey sundries- washing powder and cloths etc, and local treats- Cornish tea, coffee and biscuits. It was ideally placed for our week walking the coast path from Sennen cove to Hayle, and always welcoming to come home to after a long days hike. Unfortunately we didnt get to sample the local pub, but it is very conveniently placed, and Pendeen and nearby St Just are charming, with useful shops. Hide

Well presented and cosy accommodation. AGA would be too warm in summer months and alternative cooking facilities needed for those of us not familiar with this type of cooking. The steep stairs would be a problem for those with limited mobility so perhaps this should be made clear in description of property. Lovely walks from the door.

Beautiful cottage, perfectly situated for visiting local attractions (by car), and walking distance straight onto the moors and local pub. Being dog friendly was a huge bonus for us. We will definitely be going back again.

I have had the most wonderful few days in the stables. It is a beautiful property, cosy, clean and well equipped. The location was perfect for quiet walks and was in easy driving distance to everywhere we wanted to go. The beds were comfortable, the shower was lovely. We had an issue with the router that was fixed within minutes of being mentioned

Cosy cottage. Good location. Friendly local pub. The AGA pumps out some heat which can be a little overbearing when the weather is hot, however great for cooking and would be super toasty in the colder months. Friendly helpful host, Bella.
