Providing sympathetically updated and stylishly decorated holiday accommodation for up to four guests, this cheery retreat lies in a quiet spot within the picturesque grounds of the owner’s home in Suffolk. The property sits along a quiet country lane less than a mile from Orford – a popular coastal village with a choice of pubs, independents shops and cafes. Overlooking the village is the remarkably intact, 12th-century Orford Castle built by Henry II. From Orford Quay, a ferry will take you across the River Alde to the serene Orford Ness National Nature Reserve – Europe’s largest stretch of shingle spit, offering over 2,000 acres of secluded marshlands and mudflats. Along the coast you can spend a day in the traditional coastal town of Aldeburgh (11 miles), known for its association with Benjamin Britten. Inland, the Snape Maltings concert hall lies to the north (5 miles).
Entering this sweet and cosy property, the ground floor comprises a spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with colourful furnishings and plenty of room for you all to relax in. The cheerful lounge has ample seating and a TV, with light streaming in through the patio doors. There’s a welcoming dining table over in one corner, perfect for enjoying family meals which you can rustle up in the stylishly arranged and fully equipped kitchen, which has plenty of storage and workspace. Heading upstairs, you will find a light and refreshing family bathroom and two bright and cheerful super-king-size bedrooms, one of which can convert to a twin room on request.
From the main living area, large patio doors lead out into the charming and enclosed garden. Featuring a patio, lawn and plenty of outdoor furniture, this is a lovely spot for you all to settle back and enjoy a BBQ at the end of a fantastic day. Guests will also benefit from private parking for one car.
