Located just a mile from the centre of medieval Rye, this inviting retreat in rural East Sussex is surrounded by acres of organic farmland and is within easy reach of the many independent shops, cafes, and restaurants the town has to offer. Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom hideaway is situated less than 0.5 miles from the scenic fringes of the undulating High Weald. With panoramic views across Romney Marsh, it is 1 miles from the centre of charming Rye and 4.5 miles from the coast at Winchelsea and Camber Sands. The semi-detached, single-storey retreat offers en-suite bedrooms, a wood burner and a private garden to ensure a high level of comfort all year round. From here, you can head out to beautiful beaches, local vineyards and family attractions. Visit Camber Castle (4 miles), built by Henry VIII. Take a gentle stroll through Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, 3.5 miles away. Plan a day trip to historic Battle Abbey, 16 miles from the cottage, to see where William the Conqueror clashed with King Harold in 1066.

Unlace your walking boots or slip off your beach shoes to find a warm welcome inside the property. With airy accommodation, featuring neutral decor and plenty of windows, the holiday home still presents an abundance of original features, such as high, vaulted ceilings and exposed beams. At the heart of the abode is a spacious, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner where you and your friends or family can spread out and spend quality time together between your adventures. Head down to the comfortable seating area to sink back into a sofa in front of the roaring wood burner. Find a movie for everyone to enjoy on the TV or play a game together after dinner. The cleverly arranged, country-cream kitchen provides ample storage and food preparation space. Discover all the equipment you need in here too for when you come to rustle up home cooked meals for your nearest and dearest. Be sure to take in the views from the table beside the windows as you enjoy your meals. The relaxing palette of soft, neutral shades continues throughout the bedrooms. Choose from a sumptuous king-size, double or twin bedroom, each of which benefits from an en-suite shower room.

Spend sunny days unwinding on the patio over a cup of tea or a glass of wine. Play games with the children on the lawn or simply lose yourselves in the views. There is private parking for three cars at the cottage.

A very convenient location with walks from the front door. Comfortable living space with lovely views. The main bed is very hard and the bedrooms are bit basic for a 4 star rating but the showers were good, there was plenty of hot water and the heating was effective.
