Property code: OC-G30629

This charming cottage nestles in a rural spot in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National park just 0.25 miles from the Pennine Way.  The perfect option for up to three people, the property is ideal for unwinding around nature and embarking on outdoor adventures.  It is in a picturesque hamlet just 0.5 miles from the market town of Hawes.  Nearby, you can stroll to the famous Wensleydale Creamery (0.5 miles) or while away a few hours exploring local shops and pubs.  The area offers stunning walks with Aysgill Force a walk from the doorstep and Hardraw Force only 2 miles away – you can reach this pretty single-drop waterfall (the highest in England) via a 6-mile circular trail.  Aysgarth Falls (10miles) is a triple flight of waterfalls in a spectacular setting and was famously used in the 1991 film robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.  You can also visit nearby villages such as Akrigg (5.5 miles) and local market towns including Leyburn (17 miles), perched above the River Ure.

Upon arrival, step into this delightful and quirky traditional Yorkshire cottage.  Smaller in size but incredibly cosy,  with every inch of space thoughtfully utilised.  The open plan kitchen and lounge invites you to switch off and relax.  Make yourself comfortable on the leather sofa and light the multi-fuel burner for a warm and cosy night under the rustic beams.  You could watch the Smart TV or catch up on a few chapters of your favourite book with your loved ones nearby.  In the corner is a small but cute, well-equipped kitchen , with all you need to cook up some Yorkshire feasts.  A dining table which comfortably seats two provides the scene for sociable meals accompanied by a tasty bottle of wine or you can use the dining trays provided to eat off your laps.  Heading up the winding staircase you’ll find a double bedroom and a single bedroom, each with wooden accents and white walls, creating a lovely setting for a restful night’s sleep aided by almost zero traffic noise.  A family shower room completes the interior.

Outside, to the  front of the cottage, a pretty bench awaits offering an ideal spot for quiet contemplation.  You could also take your morning brew or evening tipple to a bench by the ford over the beck which has stunning views.  Also outside is a private drive which is always available for loading/unloading and mostly available for one car to park.

A really well laid out cottage with all we needed. Loved the shower. Well situated with the lovely footpath through to Hawes. Excellent centre for exploring the awesome Dales including by train from Garsdale to Settle. Thank you for a lovely week.

A petite but perfectly formed cottage. Ideal for 2. Well equipped and warm with plenty of hot water. If a couple the double bed is up against a wall so night time bathroom visits could be a challenge. Lane leading up to cottage is narrow. Owner very helpful and pleasant.

Geoff was a fantastic host, greeting us on arrival and always available if you needed any help with anything. The cottage had everything we needed as was spotlessly clean. All in all a great place to stay.

The cottage was lovely. The small kitchen suited our needs perfectly, the bathroom was clean, and the beds were confortable. The best part of the cottage was the fireplace, it was a joy to light a fire and relax after a long hike.
