Get to know Lancashire and Yorkshire with an endless selection of walks nearby in this charming property that’s just perfect for couples. Located in the lovely village of Barrowford, with a range of shops and eateries to explore, the village sits at the foothills of Pendle Hill (4 miles), an easy-to-tackle summit offering exceptional views and a fascinating history. Read up on the Pendle Witch Trials before hiking to the top of the hill. On the opposite side of Pendle Hill lies Clitheroe (10 miles), a charming market town with a characterful high street and ancient castle, marking the edge of the stunning Forest of Bowland AONB. Discover independent shops, galleries, and a handful of eateries here. Cross into Yorkshire to explore the attractions in the picturesque market town of Skipton (13.5 miles), better known as the ‘gateway to the dales’ and explore further into the national park and the wealth of Dales villages and scenery beyond. Cool tones, trendy interiors, and an eclectic finish make this holiday home one to remember.

Step into the entrance hall and leave coats and boots behind before heading up to the first floor. The living space consists of an L-shaped lounge/kitchen/diner with parquet flooring, contemporary details, and large windows that flood the space with natural light. Antique-style Chesterfield sofas sit opposite one another, with a Smart TV creating the perfect spot for late-night relaxation. The kitchen is ready for rustling up any meal, and there’s a breakfast bar where you can sit and dine. A small office space is tucked neatly into the corner, ideal for those who need to put in a few hours of work during their holidays. Next door, a double bedroom and cosy single bedroom await to provide a restful night’s sleep. Finally, a spacious shower room with characterful tiled flooring completes the property’s offering.

Upon arrival, notice the enclosed patio space with seating and a BBQ, perfect for sipping a drink and soaking up the peaceful atmosphere of village life. For a better view of the surroundings, head up to the first floor and open the French doors to reveal a delightful balcony, ideal for enjoying breakfast in the sun.

The property was spotless, comfortable, and really well equipped, and the hosts went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable not just for us but for our small dog as well. The views were lovely too, which made the whole stay even better.

Beautiful property immaculately clean. Excellent WIFI and smart Television. Great kitchen very well equipped very complexed oven (thankfully instructions available) Sofa's we found uncomfortable but I understand this is personal interpretation of levels regarding comfort. I would recommend willow bank lodge has it is very smart and well cared for. Read moreHost were approachable and friendly. Be aware there is building work going on below the property which can be heard... good views beyond though. "Reply from holidaycottages.co.uk - Thank you for your lovely review. Were delighted you found the lodge immaculately clean, well equipped, and well cared for, and that you enjoyed the WiFi, kitchen, and views. We appreciate your feedback regarding the sofas, and as you say, comfort is very personal. The building work mentioned is the construction of a new housing estate, located quite a way across a field and not directly next to the property. Whilst we appreciate some noise may carry, it should not cause any disruption." Hide
