Imagine waking up to the sound of crashing waves and the fresh sea air at Hedd Mor, which means 'Sea Peace.' This charming retreat in New Quay offers stunning sea views and a prime location just steps from the Wales Coast Path. Perfect for couples, small families, or a group of up to three adults, this cottage provides a peaceful base for exploring the beautiful Welsh coast. Whether you're planning a relaxing seaside break or an active getaway, you'll find comfort, character, and convenience in every corner.

The property is close to the town’s welcoming cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops. The Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron is only 7.5 miles away, while Cardigan and Aberystwyth are both within 24 miles, meaning you have plenty of options when it comes to discovering the region’s vibrant towns. Back in New Quay, golden sands and a sheltered harbour invite holidays whatever time of year, and you can plan scenic hikes along the Wales Coast Path which passes just metres from the front door and leads to Llangrannog (7.5 miles) in one direction, and Aberaeron in the other. Enjoy meals out overlooking the harbour, and if you feel inspired, book a boat trip out into Cardigan Bay where you might even spot some dolphins during your stay. Hedd Mor is a traditional Welsh cottage overlooking the harbour in New Quay. The property has been a much-loved holiday home for many years and is full of light and calm.  It was built by the owner’s great great grandfather in 1860 whose family live locally and can be with you in five minutes if needed.

We encourage you to come and experience the views and the calm for yourself. Step into the inviting hallway and be greeted by the warm and welcoming lounge/diner with a classic and timeless feel. Gather around the cosy wood burner on chilly evenings, enjoying the crackling fire and the breathtaking sea views. The spacious seating area is perfect for relaxing with a good book, watching a movie on the TV, or simply enjoying each other's company.

A dining table and chairs provide a comfortable space for enjoying delicious meals together, whether it's a home-cooked feast or a takeaway from one of the local restaurants. Walk through to the kitchen where you will find amenities you need to cook up a memorable holiday feast. A handy utility room and an outside shower room with WC complete the ground floor. When it’s time to call it a night, let the wood burner die out and head upstairs where both peaceful bedrooms await, these include one cosy double and one twin; along with an elegant bathroom. Also on this floor is a thoughtfully designed workspace or reading nook — an ideal spot to unwind with a book or catch up on emails while enjoying the stunning sea views.

Step outside and discover a delightful private garden, perfect for enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. Narrow stone steps lead up to a lawn and gravelled area with outside seating, ideal for relaxing with a good book or enjoying a barbecue with friends and family. The garden is fully enclosed, providing a safe and secure space for your furry friend to stretch their legs and play. Parking: There is free on street parking in the road. We stayed at Hedd Mor for a week in August as a family of five, and had a wonderful time. Parking was no problem at all. New Quay itself is a brilliant destination for families. It has everything you could need: a gorgeous beach thats shallow and safe at low tide, plenty of watersports, opportunities for crabbing, and a handy little beach shack for snacks and refreshments. We couldnt have asked for a better holiday and would love to return! Hide

Cottage was well located with stunning views of the beach and ocean view. House was clean and well equipped and plenty of towels were left for us. Struggled to work the TV but was no problem and owner promptly sorted. Parking was adequate outside given how busy the area can get and we had a brilliant time in one of our favourite places

This charming cottage, with broad views across New Quay harbour and the wider bay beyond, is delightful. It is beautifully decorated and furnished, thoughtfully equipped and we found it, on arrival, spotlessly clean. Not only was the house itself welcoming and comfortable; all the information and guidance supplied by the owner - about the central hRead moreeating for example - was clear, considered and helpful. Although it was an easy walk, via a narrow car-free passage, to the beach, harbour wall and pubs/shops, we enjoyed the peaceful surroundings of house and garden just as much as we enjoyed New Quay itself, with its many attractions. We can't recommend this holiday cottage highly enough. Hide
