Stay at the beating heart of North Yorkshire’s Whitby, enjoying the beautiful beaches, Gothic architecture and rich literary appeal just walking distance from your inviting, home-from-home cottage. A destination for book lovers, this coastal town provides the backdrop for the classic novel Dracula, and the town is overtaken by a Goth Festival twice a year in celebration of that. Take a walk up to Whitby Abbey (0.5 miles) to soak up the haunting atmosphere, or embark on a regular Dracula tour around town. The 199 Steps attraction and the winding, cobbled streets are worth a ponder, and you’ll find plenty of boutiques, pubs and eateries to fall into as needed. Three incredible beaches - Tate Hill, West Cliff and Upgang – are all within 0.5 miles of the house, encouraging sunbathing and ball games on the beach when the weather is right.

Homely and instantly welcoming, this holiday home has been furnished with floral accents and cosy décor. Step inside relax and take the weight off your your feet in the comfortable lounge, a warm and welcoming space with ample seating, a Smart TV with Chromecast and a log-effect fire to switch on. From here, move through the dining room and into the kitchen to find plenty of appliances and space for cooking. A handy WC completes the offering of the ground floor. Moving up to the first floor, discover a double bedroom with ample storage or space for a travel cot as required. This room offers an en-suite shower room, too. Also, on this floor, discover a twin bedroom and a full-sized family bathroom to freshen up in. On the second floor, you’ll find a king-size bedroom also with an en-suite shower room. Owing to its elevated position, this room offers an incredible view out across Whitby’s rooftops and onto the East Cliff.

An outdoor space is uncommon in town centre cottages; however, this property offers a small courtyard at the back. The patio space is a spot to sit out and soak up some fresh air, listening to seabirds at large up ahead. There is private off road parking for one car.

Enjoyed our stay at Lobster Pot Cottage. Been to Whitby lots of time so chose it for the location. Ideally placed for us.

Lobster Pot cottage is a lovely house in a fabulous location. It's very well equipped with everything you could need. The car park space was a real treat as well. I'd be very happy to stay there again next time I go to Whitby.
