A UNIQUE South Devon apartment for two, this romantic retreat will be your very own paradise, right on the riverfront in the heart of colourful Teignmouth.  You will never tire of the ever changing estuary views. This two storey hideaway enjoys panoramic views across the River Teign and offers sweeping vistas over the quaint seaside village of Shaldon (across the river by passenger ferry) and distant Dartmoor National Park.  Ideal for days out on the beach or walks along the South West Coastal Path, perfect for you and your loved one to enjoy some quality time away together. You can swim, picnic, launch your own canoe, paddleboard or kayak.  A private mooring trot is available for a small boat (at guests risk).  Browse the town’s independent shops and dine out with a variety of cafes, restaurants, take aways and pubs within a level stroll away.  Venture 10 miles to Dartmoor and spend the day exploring the beautiful landscapes of the National Park, or just 5 miles to Torquay also known as the English Riviera. The historic Cathedral city of Exeter is just 30 minutes away by car or train.

Why not attend one of the many events in the area like the Shaldon Regatta, Shaldon Water Carnival, Torbay Air Show, Devon County Show, along with many various local food and music festivals to enjoy.

Before stepping into this delightful property, take a moment to appreciate your surroundings of sandy streets and other colourful beach houses.  Climb the external steps from the parking forecourt and head into the entrance hall to find that the seaside charm continues in the form of ocean inspired artworks, blue and white colours and splendid views over the river. The property’s reverse-level design means that the sumptuous bedroom is on the first floor, greeting you as you enter.  The airy king size bedroom has fantastic waterside views and a 43” Smart TV for lazy mornings under the duvet. Upstairs you will find the social heart of the home, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner.  Here, after days of coastal adventure, sink into the lounge space’s soft seating to rest weary muscles, flicking on the 55” Smart TV or simply taking in the far reaching views over the river and beyond.  When stomachs being to rumble, move over to the kitchen space and find everything you need to cook up a Devonshire feast for your special someone, and gather round the dining table to plan the next days’ itinerary over your meal.

There is a well appointed shower room off the lounge/kitchen.

If you are bringing your own small boat or kayak, by prior arrangement with the owner you can make use of their mooring trot (at guests own risk).  Private parking for one small car is available on the forecourt, and there are also pay and display cars parks close by.

The apartment at Saltwhisle View is spacious, beautifully decorated, modern fully equipped kitchen, great shower, and with every facility catered for in a great location with fabulous views, both from the lounge and bedroom. The only criticism is the lack of an adequate size parking space outside only suited for a small car.

Excellent property, superb views and very handy for the surrounding amenities. Please be aware that a small car is definitely needed for the shared driveway.

A very nice apartment, clean and comfortable. Even though we had dreadful weather we really enjoyed our stay. The view is fantastic. I am sure we will come back

Excellent view from the bedroom and lounge. Great location 10 minutes from the rail station, bus stops, Co-Op, farm shop, butchers etc. 5 minutes from the Crab Shack (very expensive but good fish restaurant) and 10 mins from The Venus Cafe (very reasonably priced super fresh catch of the day with a sea view). In August the beach outside the propertRead morey was rammed and the live music from the quay pubs loud but this always stopped at a reasonable time and is part a parcel of the experience. It was always peaceful overnight and first thing in the morning. The property was spotless, well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. Sharing the parking area with the people downstairs could have tricky and stressful so I left my car at home and was glad I did because the space is tight and the arrangement relies on both parties playing ball regarding the size of car and neatness of parking. Public transport is extremely good in this part of Devon (includes ferries to Shaldon and Exmouth) and you can buy Rover tickets on the buses that allow multiple trips within an area. Strangely, a return to Dawlish is cheaper by train so it is important to do a bit of planning. I would definitely stay at the property again. If it rained (it didnt when I was there) I could happily sit watching the estuary all week. Hide

We have stopped at a few holiday let's in and around Teignmouth and Shaldon which have been all very beautiful but nothing comes close to Saltwhistle View. It is the most gorgeous and mesmerising place with views to die for. 100% definitely will be returning.

Excellent accommodation in a great location. We have been visiting teignmouth for 18 years and this is by far the best property we have stayed at. Just wish it had an extra bedroom so we can bring the grandkids.
