Escape to this warm and inviting three-bedroom holiday home right in the heart of the Cornish countryside, with its rustic stone exterior and breathtaking views, the perfect base for your winter walking holiday. Close to popular walking routes, scenic coastal trails, and stunning countryside views, it’s ideal for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts looking to explore crisp winter landscapes.  Enjoy a snug and comfortable interior with underfloor heating to keep you cosy after your walks.  Whether you’re seeking brisk coastal walks or peaceful country rambles, this is your perfect winter retreat.

You’ll be 0.5 miles from St Just, an up-and-coming town with sweeping moors on one side and the wild Atlantic on the other. Here you’ll find a delightful mix of pubs, eateries, art galleries and shops to explore. Enjoy a refreshing dip or paddle? Head to Cape Cornwall (1 mile), a dramatic headland with panoramic ocean views and excellent hiking along the South West Coast Path (0.5 miles). Don’t miss visiting the iconic Minack Theatre (8.5 miles), an open-air venue carved into the cliffs at Lamorna. Hop on the open-top bus from St Just for a stunning coastal journey to St Ives (13.5 miles), where you can enjoy lunch overlooking the picture-perfect harbour and visit world-famous galleries like the Tate. Alternatively, stop off at Penzance (8.5 miles) and wander across to the magical St Michael’s Mount at low tide.

On arrival, take a moment to absorb the soothing views then step inside to an open-plan living space encompassing the kitchen, lounge and dining area on your left. The kitchen has sleek grey units and a central wooden dining table, making it the perfect spot for leisurely breakfasts or family dinners. After busy days out exploring, relax on the sofa or armchairs while catching up on your favourite shows on the Smart TV. The space is light and airy, thanks to dual-aspect windows and bi-fold doors that open directly onto the garden. From the inner hall, head right to find a twin bedroom at the end of the hallway, a family bathroom and a king-size bedroom. The third bedroom, a king-size with an en-suite shower room, is located near the entrance.

The enclosed and private garden is wonderful for relaxing in good weather. There’s a picnic bench for al fresco dining or evening drinks as you soak up the countryside atmosphere around the firepit.  Behind is a lush wildflower meadow that belongs to the property, the perfect space for children and dogs to let off steam.  The field is not fully enclosed as there is a gate, and the adjoining fields sometimes house livestock so we would ask that you do not leave pets unattended.

There is also a dedicated EV Charger at the property, this can take the worries out of daily adventuring.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Byre and already hope to return next year. Thank you so much for having us! We stayed here with the whole family, grandparents, parents, and three young children aged 1, 3, and 5, and it was perfect for all of us. The large enclosed garden was fantastic for the kids to play safely, and they especially loved seRead moreeing the horses, donkeys, and rabbits next door. There are also plenty of beautiful public walking paths nearby, which made it easy to head out on little family adventures together. We made wonderful memories here and would definitely love to come back again! Hide

The Byre met all our needs & more. We walked the dog to St Just each morning & back for breakfast at the Byre before setting off for the day. On our last day we managed to eat at Cafe Dog & Rabbit in St Just - very popular & always busy - food in our opinion was amazing. The Byre is in a lovely location, easy to walk into St Just for nice shops and coffee and cake and easily accessible to lovely walks to Cape Cornwall and Cot Valley. Cottage is nicely decorated and had all the equipment you would need. Only negative is the garden is not secure, a gate in the garden had a big gap at the bottom which small dogs canRead more get under, and also there is no gate at side of cottage meaning they can get into the area at the front where you park. A shame as meant we couldn't leave our dog to just go in and out on his own. Fine if you don't have a small dog! Hide
