Well-placed for discovering the ever-changing landscape of the mighty Exmoor National Park, this handsome stone cottage is just 1 mile from Combe Martin and 2 miles from its pristine, sandy beach. Right on the edge of Exmoor, the village offers a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The bay is a destination for water sports, with kayaking and paddleboarding on the cards for the more adventurous among us. Along the coastline, things get a little livelier in the neighbouring town of Ilfracombe (6.5 miles). Explore the tunnels of Tunnels Beaches and the impressive rocky outcrop of Wildersmouth Beach. Moving in the opposite direction, the National Trust-maintained beauty spot of Heddon Valley (6 miles) is one to explore on foot or two wheels, offering secluded valleys and hidden bays with pathways between them. Take the Heddon’s Mouth circular walk to admire the banks of the River Heddon and the mighty seascapes nearby.

Eclectic design features and cosy interiors are combined in this two-storey stone cottage. Let yourself in via the ground floor, noticing the king-size bedroom with its four-poster bed and the equally appealing twin bedroom downstairs. Both rooms share access to a refreshing family bathroom with both a bath and a shower offering space to enjoy a relaxing soak. Upstairs, an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is yours to call your own. The kitchen is presented with plenty of farmhouse appeal and everything you need to stay fed and watered, and there’s space to sit around a dining table at mealtimes. A warm and welcoming lounge sits on the opposite side of the room. Discover cushy sofas, a wood burner and a Smart TV to put your feet up and settle in for the night. Off the living area is a door to access the terraced balcony area with steps leading back down to the garden.

Take in the fresh Devonshire air from the pretty garden directly outside the property. French doors from the king-size bedroom lead into a lawned garden. There’s outdoor seating on the patio, perfect for sitting with a morning brew or sundowner.
