A beautiful retreat which enjoys a prime location in the idyllic village of Greystoke. Greystoke boasts a heated outdoor pool (May - September), a lively pub plus a medieval castle with bars, live events and an abundance of walking rails for you and your four-legged companions. Make your way to Ullswater (6 miles), the second largest lake in England, to take a walk around its banks, visiting the Aira Force Waterfall (9 miles) and the pretty village of Pooley Bridge (6 miles). The twin fells of Great Mell (6 miles) and Little Mell (6.5 miles) can be hiked close to here, as can Blencathra (10 miles) for incredible views out to the Solway Firth and across The Pennines. In between excursions, embrace rest days and visit Penrith (5 miles). Penrith is a charming market town with cobbled streets, an ancient castle, a selection of independent businesses and plenty of shops and eateries. From here, take the train to Carlisle (17.5 miles), an endearing city with a castle and cathedral.
Located on a quiet village street, this mid-terraced stone cottage opens into a snug yet spacious two-storey holiday home. Stone-flagged flooring, wooden beams and exposed brickwork add to the traditional appeal of the place, particularly in the dining room that greets you on arrival. Two steps lead from here up to a bright, well-equipped kitchen for all your mealtime requirements. Opposite the dining room, a lovely lounge invites restful times with soft seating, a Smart TV and a wood burner-effect electric fire to keep things warm. After a cosy night in here, retire to bedrooms on the first floor. A double and a spacious twin room sit opposite one another, with a family bathroom completing the property’s offering.
Whilst there’s no designated outdoor space for this property, you can pack up a picnic and walk over to the village green to catch some rays.
