A delightful Derbyshire cottage, this comfortable hideaway offers a warm welcome to those seeking to stay close to the centre of Bakewell. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom abode is also a perfect choice for anyone wishing to bring a dog to accompany them on exhilarating walks through the picturesque Peak District National Park and Derbyshire Dales. With accommodation across three storeys and features such as a wood burner and a courtyard garden, this charming retreat makes a fabulous base, whatever the season. Explore the colourful, historic town on foot, wandering in and out of independent shops and dining out. See the historic Bakewell Bridge, wander along the River Wye and pause in a bakery to shop for a portion of the town’s celebrated pudding. Plan a day out to the impressive stately home of Chatsworth House, 10 miles from the cottage. Haddon Hall, just 2 miles away, also makes a great day out.

Let yourselves into the cottage from the courtyard garden to the rear. Step into the kitchen, where you can dry damp paws, unlace walking boots and hang jackets. This compact space encompasses all the equipment and appliances you are likely to need to help you cater for your party during your stay. Amble through to the carpeted living/diner, with its gorgeous, exposed stone wall. Fire up the wood burner then sink back into the soft seating in its cosy glow, and find your current box set on the Smart TV. Gather round the table in here at mealtimes. At the end of each exciting day away, head up to the bedrooms on the upper storeys. A super-king-size, with zip-and-link beds that can also be made up as twin beds by prior request, is on the first floor, together with the family bathroom. Wander up to the second floor to find the double bedroom, which features an abundance of wood, giving it a friendly, Scandinavian appeal.

The courtyard garden is a superb outside space where you can bask in the sunshine between summer trips out. Grill fresh Derbyshire produce on the BBQ and gather around the chimenea as the stars appear. There is a parking permit provided for residents' parking nearby, subject to availability, and the cellar has space for storing bicycles.

Lovely place very homely, great location for the town, everything you would need, heating, a fire, good shower, clean linen, top of it all the host, couldn't be more pro active, messages with directions, welcome messages, guidance for food, nothing is too much trouble so a perfect host I would say.
