Once used to dry hops for brewing in a circular kiln, this atmospheric property sleeps ten guests across five bedrooms, all with en-suites. Perfect for families or friends planning to share a holiday together, it is within 4 miles of the scenic North Downs Way, ideal for keen walkers. You’ll find footpaths from the door, together with the increasingly popular restaurant, food and craft shop stocking local produce plus a Greek taverna also offering a takeaway service just 500 metres walking distance away in the hamlet of Oad Street. Leeds Castle, “the most beautiful castle in the world”, is a mere 15 minutes car ride away. Enjoy a day out in the charming medieval market town of Faversham (13 miles), with its independent shops, galleries and cosy pubs. The historic Standard Quay at Faversham Creek is home to classic ships and barges. The beautiful 10-acre Mount Ephraim Gardens nearby offer magnificent views over the River Swale and Thames Estuary. You can treat yourself to a trip along the estuary aboard a splendid 100-year-old traditional Thames sailing barge from the quayside at Lower Halstow (7.5 miles).

This impressive holiday home is cleverly designed around the circular shapes, known as roundels, which give the oast house its distinctive shape. Enter through a spacious hallway with beams and wooden flooring, and turn left into a bright, open-plan living space. Relax on comfortable seating, watch the Smart TV, or open patio doors to the garden and smell the country air. There’s a dining table with chairs and a kitchen with all the culinary equipment you need, ideal for al fresco dining on warmer days. There are two pretty, en-suite bedrooms in the ground-floor roundel, a double with a charming Victorian-style bed and a twin. Stairs from the hallway lead to the first floor and a second, large and light open-plan living space. Comprising cosy seating, a dining table for ten, a TV and a streamlined kitchen, this room has delightful views out to the countryside. The first-floor roundel boasts three inviting en-suite bedrooms: a king-size, a double and a twin.

Outside, relax in the enclosed garden, with seating and a gazebo.

We had a wonderful weekend away at the Hippity Hop Oast House. Neil made us feel very welcome and the clear instructions were very useful. It was a perfect, uniquely furnished house for a family Easter getaway. We loved the fact that all the bedrooms had ensuites, and the youngsters could play board games in their own lounge downstairs, or out in Read morethe private garden. Thank you! Hide
