Escape with your loved ones to this beautifully converted former calving shed sitting in a pretty complex of properties that offers incredible, uninterrupted views of Lorton Valley. Located on a farm, it sleeps five people across two bedrooms, and it’s the ideal countryside escape for families or groups of friends in search of a stylish cottage to call home while they explore the Lake District together. There are beautiful hikes from the doorstep across the 30-acre fell, or venture to the trails of Whinlatter Forest Park (6 miles). Alternatively, make a beeline for Crummock Water (2.5 miles), Loweswater (4.5 miles) or Buttermere (7.5 miles) where you can soak up the beautiful views of the tranquil waters and surrounding peaks. The town amenities of Cockermouth are just 4.5 miles away. In the evening, come home to your cottage’s pretty terrace, crack open a bottle of something cool and crisp, and watch the stars come out.
Approach via the 200-metre tree-lined driveway, park up your car and make a beeline to your cosy holiday retreat. Step inside and you’ll find an entrance hall leading to a delightful open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with characterful black exposed beams. Slip onto the sofa and soak in the stylish rustic ambience before heading to the sleek kitchen area to whip up some dinner. Enjoy a hearty meal with your loved ones at the elegant dining table, and then head back to the lounge to challenge your nearest and dearest to a board game tournament. At the end of the day, you’ll find a lovely family room with a super-king-size bed and single bed on the lower ground floor (down five steps), and a pretty king-size bedroom up six steps. Completing the layout, you’ll find a modern family bathroom with a shower and WC.
Unwind on the terrace in the garden while you enjoy the breathtaking views of the Lorton Valley, the perfect spot to enjoy a quiet coffee to start our day. There is private parking for 2 cars.
