This beautiful character property in the heart of Bamburgh is perfect for families and friends to spend quality time together exploring the coast. The cottage is just metres from magnificent Bamburgh Castle, as are the beach, the large, village green and the much-loved local amenities. Nearby, explore the glistening shores of Budle Bay (1.8 miles), Beadnell Bay (6.3 miles), Low Newton by the sea (9.2 miles) and Embleton Bay (10.3 miles). A visit to Seahouses (3.5 miles) is also a must for beachgoers, with seafood restaurants, shops, bars and restaurants. Take the passenger ferry from Seahouses to the Farne Islands and Holy Island for a morning of wildlife watching and history. Family golfers can tee off at Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, while the walkers can explore the constantly changing landscape of the Northumberland Coastal Path by heading south at Bamburgh.

Head down the steps from the parking area and into the garden, where you will enter the back door of this gorgeous property and into the utility/boot room where you can store coats and outdoor footwear. When you open the door to the spacious lounge/kitchen/diner you will instantly feel at home. This light and airy space is decorated in muted tones with nautical accents and benefits from underfloor heating throughout the ground floor, making it a fabulous place to relax and unwind. Curl up on the comfortable seating and enjoy the crackles from the wood burner while you catch up with your loved ones. Round up the family cooks and begin whipping up a storm in the stylish, well-equipped kitchen. Enjoy mealtimes together around the huge dining table under the glass atrium, seating ten or sit at the breakfast bar, with a coffee (seats two). On balmy evenings, throw open the bi-folding doors and allow the evening air in while you enjoy the garden with stunning views of the castle. From the kitchen, head back into the hallway and find two additional lounges, both of which feature a wood burner and castle views. Watch the kids compete for fun on the Wii console in one sitting room, or steal a few moments of peace in the other sitting room as you snuggle down with a film and glass of wine. Store your walking gear in the practical utility room. Rounding off the ground floor is a delightful king-size bedroom and a family shower room. At bedtime, head upstairs to find four more well-appointed bedrooms, including two king-size bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms, one twin bedroom with an en-suite shower and another twin bedroom. The family bathroom completes the accommodation with a shower and bath for those leisurely morning soaks.

Heading outside via the bi-folding doors in the kitchen/diner, you will discover the large, enclosed, walled garden with plenty of room to kick a ball and a generous outdoor dining table seating ten. On warm evenings, fire up the BBQ and enjoy al fresco dining with your family. Parking is available for three cars in the private car park shared with nearby Windy Edge Cottage.

We had a lovely time staying in Rock Cottage at Bamburgh. The cottage was spacious and comfortable, and had everything we required for a really pleasant break. Looking out towards spectacular Bamburgh castle the cottage is ideally located, and just a short walk from local amenities. Comfortably able to park 3 cars in the parking area, and there areRead more convenient bus stops right outside the front door. Cottage very dog friendly and ours enjoyed chasing balls in the large enclosed garden. Definitely recommend Rock Cottage for a comfortable and relaxing break. Hide
