Set in the market town of Bridport, with beaches and walking trails nearby, this Grade II-listed former ropemaker's cottage is perfect for a relaxing couple’s retreat. Step outside your front door and find yourself in the lively town of Bridport. Its reputation for arts, culture and food makes for an interesting afternoon of shopping, and it even has a fantastic antique quarter with some rare finds just waiting to be discovered. Grab cake and coffee on West Bay Harbour or enjoy magnificent sea views from Bridport Golf Club (2 miles). Back inland, visit the Symondsbury Estate (2 miles) for a lovely walk to Colmer’s Hill, a popular photography spot.

Admire this charming cottage from the outside before entering through the door and into the cosy and welcoming lounge. Characterful overhead beams and exposed brickwork make this room enticing at the end of busy days, while the seating is soft and deep for you to truly unwind. Stream a film on the Smart TV before heading through to the kitchen, where a beautiful backdrop and handy appliances provide the perfect combination for special meals for two. You can also dine at the table laid for two here. Steep cottage-style stairs add to the flair of this home and lead to the landing on the first floor, where a delightful king-size bedroom awaits. Among the eye-catching decorative features of this delightful property is the tiny first-floor feature fireplace. Enjoy long soaks in the adjacent bathroom, which has a bath and shower.

Outside, guests can access a pretty courtyard garden encompassing bistro-stye furniture for morning coffees or evening tipples. Although no parking is available, there is a nearby car park with ample spaces.

We had a lovely long weekend at Periwinkle cottage. The cottage was cosy, well equipped and had everything we needed. It is located centrally so great for local shops and places to eat. Will definitely be back!
