Nestled in the beating heart of Swanage, this stone-built cottage offers splendid accommodation for families and groups of friends. Sleeping six guests and set just a short walk from the town’s bustling centre and golden beach, with the Purbeck countryside also nearby, this is a great base for beach days and coastal walking. Enjoy bucket-and-spade days at Swanage Beach (300 metres) and find more coastal splendour within a 7-mile stretch along Studland Bay. Scenic walking trails abound along the South West Coast Path (500 metres), which offers the best viewpoints for Old Harry Rocks and the Isle of Wight. Enjoy traditional days out at Swanage Pier (0.5 miles), where you’ll find welcoming places to eat and drink, as well as boat trips heading out along the coast. Board the heritage Swanage Railway (200 metres) for a scenic ride to Corfe Castle (5.5 miles) or enjoy the far-reaching views at Durlston Country Park (1.5 miles).

Before stepping into this seaside retreat, take a moment to appreciate its surroundings of similar stone-built cottages and quiet streets. Head into the spacious hallway where you can hang coats and kick off sandy shoes. To your left, you’ll find the welcoming lounge where comfortable sofas are arranged around a Smart TV and an ornamental fireplace. This is the best spot to rest weary muscles after days of coastal rambles and beach fun. When stomachs begin to rumble, walk through to the diner and set the table in this airy and spacious room. This leads through to the well-appointed kitchen where you’ll find all you need to cook up a coastal feast for your loved ones, as well as a ground-floor WC and access to the rear courtyard garden. At the end of each day away, climb the cottage stairs and choose from three sumptuous bedrooms. These spacious and comfortable rooms include a king-size bedroom, a welcoming double and a cosy twin. A well-equipped family bathroom and a separate shower room complete the interior of this charming home.

Outside, to the rear of the cottage, step into the peaceful courtyard garden. Enclosed and boasting outdoor furniture, this is the best spot to enjoy quiet coffees under the morning sun and al fresco meals on balmy evenings. On-street parking is available in the surrounding roads, subject to availability.

Lovely cottage which is much bigger than expected. The rooms are quite a good size and the layout is also good. The cottage location is brilliant and has easy access to the shops, the beach, the station and coastal path.Parking was not a problem and outside the holiday period could be done in the street opposite the house. The only complaint was that tRead morehe hot water took time to work out and at certain times needed to have the immersion heater switched on in addition to the water heated through the central heating. This was our second time in Swanage and also with Original Cottages. We knew the different things to do in the area. Our granddaughter did riding twice at Lulworth and we also walked twice from the property to Old Harry Rocks and onto Studland Bay and back by bus.A great property to consider. We missed an information folder telling us about the appliances and local sites which we thought the local agents would have kept their eye on.
