Set in 5 acres of private land and nestled in the magical Yorkshire Dales famed for sweeping moorlands and poetic vibes, this Dark Skies approved accommodation by YDNP cottage offers the perfect accommodation for a family getaway or a gathering of friends. Marvel at the Victorian engineering on display at the Ribblehead Viaduct, 15 miles away. Or watch steam engines pull out of Garsdale station and cross Dandrymire Viaduct all from the comfort of the cottage which has sweeping views of both. History enthusiasts will want to spend an afternoon visiting the famed Pendragon Castle, steeped in Arthurian legend, just 8 miles away. Outdoor enthusiasts can take stunning walks direct from the cottage or tackle the challenging Yorkshire Three Peaks Walk, a 15 mile drive away, or a 30 minute train ride away with just a short walk to Garsdale station from the cottage. For those wanting to indulge in local foods and products, the ancient market town of Hawes has an array of independent shops, restaurants, pubs and the famous Wensleydale Creamery is just 6 miles away.

Enter through the rear of the property into the hallway where you’ll find a downstairs WC, and a welcoming living room off to your right. Snuggle on the leather sofa in front of the wood burner and enjoy a good movie while the designated chef prepares dinner in the well-appointed kitchen, outfitted with appliances for all your everyday needs. Country chic detailing includes a Belfast sink, slab tiling on the floor and a wood burning stove. From the kitchen, move into the dining room with views across the Dale which circles back to the lounge. Off the lounge is the porchway and front door with storage for muddy boots and coats. From the hallway, head upstairs to access the family bathroom with bath and walk-in shower. The twin bedroom decorated in tasteful pastel pink hues and cosy double bedroom in soft green both retain their original wooden beams. At the end of the hallway you’ll find a comfortable king-size bedroom which like the other two, offers sweeping views out over the Victorian viaduct and Dale beyond.

Outdoors, you’ll want to make the most of balmy evenings enjoying sundowners on the patio, which is outfitted with garden furniture for al fresco dining. Sat in the heart of Yorkshire Dales Dark Sky Reserve, the night sky can be just as magical where you can sometimes see the Milky Way, planets, meteors and even the Northern Lights. Honestly, I would highly recommend Low Moor Farm. It is situated just inside Cumbria from Yorkshire and so accessible to so many highlights from the Lakes to the Dales. Very peaceful and picturesque. The cottage itself is wonderful and welcoming with a very wood fired stove for cooler evenings. Immaculately clean and equipped with literally everythRead moreing you might need. Beautifully decorated throughout. Outside the dogs enjoyed the walled garden area and has a great patio area with table and chairs to enjoy the views, fire pit and BBQ. Hide

Many thanks for a great stay. A very nicely equipped house which was warm and comfortable. A good location to go north, south or east into the Dales. A really nice touch was the Easter goodies left for the two grandchildren that they loved. Very comfortable beds and some lovely views from the front windows over the valley and the viaduct.

Absolutely fabulous. Beautiful farmhouse cottage. Amazing location with beautiful views. Even had the joy of seeing a steam train chugging past over the viaduct in the distance. Ideally located to see so much if the Dales and Cumbria. Hugely relaxing. Amazing dark skies at night aided by very minimal light pollution. Loved it. Already booked my nexRead moret visit. Hide
