Providing light and welcoming accommodation for up to six guests, this fabulous updated holiday cottage is perfect for couples and families seeking a peaceful bolthole in a charming Dorset village. The cottage lies by the River Asker as it flows through the pretty village of Uploders and is ideally situated for exploring the glorious walking routes which can be accessed directly from the property. There are two fantastic pubs within walking distance, one just 300 metres from the cottage and is famous for its delicious pies. Or if you fancy more gastro fare the pub at Loders, is just a 15 minute walk away. The area has a wide and varied range of attractions and landmarks including the Symondsbury Estate, Jurassic Safari, the Cerne Abbas Giant, Wayford Woods and Thomas Hardy’s Cottage which are all within 20 miles. There are golf courses at Bridport or 25 minutes drive away at Lyme Regis. This area is world famous for its stunning Jurassic coast beaches, the closest is at Burton Bradstock, either a 3 mile drive or an hour’s hike across the fields.

A narrow footpath takes you to this charming hideaway. Inside, a covered porch has space for leaving muddy boots, then leads you directly into the spacious/kitchen diner. This is a bright and airy room with a country-style dining table perfect for family meals: the kitchen is stylishly arranged with ample worktops, storage space and equipment alongside a useful central island and a handsome AGA in a brick surround next to a Smart TV. Exploring this fantastic cottage further you will find a warm and inviting lounge with a Smart TV, comfortable sofas and a welcoming wood burner set in an impressive inglenook. You’ll find more space to unwind as you head through to the light and appealing garden room with a TV, a high vaulted ceiling, a comfortable sofa-bed and French doors looking out to the garden. The ground floor also has a utility room and a separate WC. A steep and winding cottage-style staircase leads up to the first floor where the galleried landing leads to three tastefully decorated and sympathetically updated bedrooms - there are two king size beds and one double bedroom. The cosy first room has a characterful four-poster bed, and the light and cheerful second room has a sweet window seat; the pretty third bedroom has a handy en-suite shower room. There’s also a separate shower room and a colourful bathroom – the latter with a gorgeous freestanding roll top bath and WC. This property uniquely offers three bedrooms and three bathrooms, offering great privacy for each guest room.

Stepping outside, the sweet garden has a lovely lawn and an array of well-stocked flower beds. There’s a choice of two patio areas with outdoor furniture, offering peaceful spots for you to sit out and unwind in the sun. A gate leads down to the river’s edge – please supervise children and pets. Roadside parking about 70 metres from the cottage subject to availability.
