This inviting home-from-home property is nestled in the idyllic village of Hayfield, which sits right at the foot of Kinder Scout, the highest point in the Peak District. Hikers and walkers will be in their element with the mountain climbs available, while cyclists can take to the Sett Valley Trail and Lantern Pike, both of which provide picturesque landscapes for all abilities. The village boasts an array of shops, several pubs, a popular art gallery, and a gift shop. Lyme Park (4 miles) is a glorious house with over six centuries of history and 1,400 acres of wild moorland to explore. Chatsworth House and Gardens is 21 miles away and well worth a visit, as is the Spa town of Buxton (10miles). For a family adventure, delve into the caverns of Castleton for an underground expedition or wander the picture-perfect villages of Little Hayfield, Hope and Bamford (all within 15 miles).

Stepping inside this welcoming property, you will enter the living room, where soft seating and a wood burner create the ideal atmosphere for a cosy evening. From the lounge, discover the fully equipped kitchen, with its ample list of appliances and handy storage. The open hatch provides extra light and makes it easy to continue chatting with guests. You’ll also find a dining table equipped with bar stools for light lunches and intimate dinners. The owners have created a snug which leads to the enclosed garden at the rear of the property where you’ll also find gorgeous views. There is also a washing machine in a cupboard here. Head upstairs to two delightfully decorated bedrooms at the end of every fun-packed day. One is a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room, and the other is a queen-sized bedroom. Completing this floor is the family bathroom, which is a joy for soaking weary muscles.

Outside, enjoy views of the High Peak from the bench at the front of the cottage. Around the back sits an enclosed garden with seating for those evenings of al fresco dining. There is on-street parking available nearby (subject to availability).

Beautiful property in convenient location of Hayfield, particularly for walkers. Very well equipped and designed. Exceptionally clean. Comfy beds. We were a party of two friends and two small dogs and there was ample space for three nights. The en suite in the front bedroom is a great use of space behind the cupboard door. We were blessed witRead moreh such good weather (particularly for May) so made use of the small, but very nice private patio at the back of the house. We would highly recommend this property but please take note of the description referring to the fact it does not have dedicated parking. At the time we visited the local hotel was closed so we were able to park there, which is 1min walk, as the on street parking on Kinder Road was full. However this may not always be the case so you may have to walk a bit further in peak season. Hide

A much needed escape and break away with my family in a little village 10 mins from Glossop near the Manchester area and New Mills. Yet you feel a million miles away from a city

A stunning, cosy home in a prime location; there's a fabulous variety of walks on the doorstep. The house is beautifully decorated with lovely finishing touches and mod-cons. It's in the heart of a peaceful village which has local convenience shops, an excellent butchers, and variety of pubs. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend!

A cosy cottage in a great location. My family of 4 and our labrador had an excellent stay over new year. The cottage is comfortable and equipped well. We enjoyed the complementary fizz and chocolates on arrival. Thank you
