Take in the picturesque views, as well as the array of birdlife, flora and fauna around the salt marsh and dunes. The village also has many family-friendly shops, cafes, bars and restaurants to try. Visiting nearby Alnwick Castle (5 miles) is a must and Alnwick town has plenty of great amenities and attractions. Howick Hall Gardens and Arboretum (6 miles) offer gorgeous walks followed by a refreshing cuppa in the Earl Grey Tea House. Explore Amble Marina, the fishing harbour, the circular pier and superb seafood restaurants (6 miles) and head to Craster (8 miles) for the coastal path walk to Dunstanburgh Castle.

This spacious family holiday home has a wonderful collection of furniture, and artwork and has been decorated to create a warm and welcoming home-from-home during your stay. Walk through the garden gate and rear patio/courtyard to enter the property’s well-equipped kitchen. Here you can hang your coats and store outdoor shoes. The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare delicious meals, and you can gather around the spacious table in the adjoining dining room to enjoy them together. The room also features a cosy wood burner and a couple of comfortable chairs for added relaxation during mealtimes. A useful cupboard off the dining room houses the freezer and a washer/dryer and there is also a handy downstairs WC. From here, move through French doors into the lounge with a warming open fire and comfortable seating where you can watch a movie on the Smart TV, or choose a book from the shelves. Off the lounge is a porch and the ‘front door’ which opens onto the enclosed garden. Head upstairs to the first floor to find a king-size and a double bedroom. The king-size has a small, lobby-style area which leads into the bedroom, and an en-suite with a shower and WC. The double bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. On the second floor, you’ll find two further bedrooms, a double and a twin. The family bathroom is also located on this floor and comprises a bath with a shower attachment and WC.

Outside, at the front of the house is a good-sized, south-facing, enclosed garden which can be a real suntrap in the warmer months, furnished with garden furniture and seating. A beautiful, comfortable and cosy house which is very well equipped and in a great location within a couple of minutes walk to the village and beach. The welcome pack was much appreciated after a long journey. Parking is on the nearby street but we always found a space. Would certainly recommend.

The cottage is in an absolutely ideal location and it suited our needs well. As there were three cars parking was the only issue.
