We had a great time and the property was as expected. I echo the comments about cleanliness and equipment, as well as lack of storage space for your dry food (we had to keep the shopping bag under the kitchen table for space management. We loved the hens and duck always quacking outside the back door, or getting into the house via the open window :Read more) The location and views are exceptional and the neighbours were very discreet. Generally we were very impressed with the high quality of the fixtures and fittings.and everything was spotlessly clean. The location is very special and it was lovely and quiet. We liked the hens but perhaps some folks might not I guess.

The property is quite modern and is well insulated with double glazed doors and windows. Underfloor heating kept the property reasonably warm but a portable electric heater is provided which came in useful on one particularly cold, windy day. Although plenty of kitchen equipment is provided, there is very little storage or indeed workspace to put fRead moreood or prepare food. A large cupboard in the bedroom provided space for tinned food, cereals and other provisions. There isn't a bread bin and the microwave sits on the sideboard in the living area. In short, the lack of kitchen space can be worked around so it isn't a showstopper. On the plus side, the ever changing view from the back of the property is amazing and provides constant interest. Finally, there is no traffic or aircraft noise, in fact, just the sounds of nature. With no light pollution the stars really twinkle! Hide

This is an incredible location, and a really cosy, pretty property with an outstanding view. The property was spotless - so clean! - when we arrived, and even smelled so good. It is really well-modernised inside, with everything you could need for your stay. We loved sitting at the table in the kitchen/living room looking at the view. It's just a wRead moreee walk from the most magnificent Riof Bay beach, and a short drive from Uig Sands. We were able to visit the whole west and north of the island, including Bernera and Ness. We highly recommend this property -- we were delighted by the choice. We already miss the hens that come to the door to greet us, and the ducks! Hide

Lovely, spacious holiday rental with gorgeous views over the loch. Very kind and supportive owners with a wealth of information about the local area but also very reassuring during a fierce, named storm which hit the island one day.

Riof Bay is a fabulous spot for a peaceful stay, in this beautiful part of the island. These are traditional crofting areas, so expect visits from the sheep and lambs, hens and geese. Thanks to the owners for the lovely welcome gifts including the fabulous fresh eggs. The beach is stunning and you will have it all to yourself. Lovely community shopRead more and cafe with great food and a fantastic selection in the shop. Do not miss the museum next to the cafe! Everyone we met on this island was lovely, friendly and helpful, wish we had planned a two week stay, we will need to come back! Hide
