Property code: OC-11744SF

Nestled in the heart of the Derbyshire countryside, on the fringes of the Peak District National Park, this delightful barn conversion sits on 10 acres of private grounds and wooded valleys. The perfect base for groups of friends and extended families, the spacious, stone-built property perches on a quiet country lane and is surrounded by gorgeous countryside. The vibrant market town of Ashbourne (5 miles) charms with its Tudor and Georgian heritage; peruse the cobbled streets, taste the famous gingerbread, and dive into the many welcoming shops, galleries and places to eat and drink. The town is also popular for being the ’Gateway to Dovedale’, a beautiful valley where riverside walking trails and picnic spots abound. Lovers of the outdoors can also head to the nearby Peak District, where the national park hotspots of Thor’s Cave, Bakewell, Buxton, and Tideswell all await within 28 miles of the property.

Upon entering, you'll step into the utility room/boot room, which has a deep ceramic sink perfect for cleaning up after a day of exploration. The utility room leads into the games room, where an American pool table awaits for some family fun. From here, inside, you can access either the lounge or the hallway, which leads to a stylish ground-floor bathroom and a well-equipped kitchen. The expansive lounge boasts oak flooring, triple aspect windows, wide-glazed doors, and a crackling wood burner, creating a warm and inviting space. The adjoining contemporary kitchen/diner has everything you need to make mealtimes a breeze, including a handy central island and a large wooden dining table where all the group can gather for meals. Just off the kitchen, you'll find the first of the bedrooms, a spacious king-size, ideal for those who prefer not to use the stairs. The first floor offers a king size bedroom with its own en-suite, and a twin room that has access to a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. There is a split-level floor that hosts the other king-size bed, and this room can either use the bathroom downstairs, or go up a small level of steps to access the family bathroom.

The games room or boot room leads you outside, where you can relax and enjoy the stunning scenery from the outside dining area, complete with a patio heater and chimenea, meaning starry nights can be enjoyed through most of the year. Walks from your door, provide the perfect countryside treat for you and your group. Private parking for up to five cars ensures convenience for all.

A wonderful place to stay. Modern, well equipped and comfortable. There was plenty of space inside for us all to spread out. The weather was incredible so we got out for a walk (from the property) to enjoy the countryside. We also enjoyed soaking up the sun on the outside sitting area. The kitchen and dining table was the place to gather for foodRead more and drinks in the evening, before retiring to the sofas to relax (leaving the dishwasher to do the hard work). We didn't turn on any of the TVs but thankfully the wi-fi was spot on (mobile signal is somewhat patchy). An enjoyable weekend with friends. Hide

The Granary was a great place to stay, especially for large families and children. The cottage was very spacious, kitchen well equipped and the games room was very enjoyable. Lots of space outside, secured parking and excellent for dog walking. Close to Ashbourne and Leek for local towns.
