Beautiful cottage very tastefully decorated we had a slight problem with the tv as the internet connection kept dropping off, and there was roofing contractors on site that turned up at 8am and were right opposite one of the bedroom windows. On the whole though we had a lovely stay

A beautiful barn conversion in a wonderful location. We loved sitting on the landing looking out to Flamborough Head in the distance. The property is immaculate with everything you need and lots of things you probably want in your own home. We were a bit scared to use the coffee machine it looked so expensive. The oven also was pristine and we wantRead moreed to make sure we didnt spoil it. The furnishing are beautiful and comfortable. The beds are really comfy as are the pillows. The surrounding countryside is quiet and peaceful. The pub in Skipsea doesnt look much from the outside ( The Board Inn) but the food and service were excellent. An Honest Review. We stayed at Meridian Barn for 4 nights during the second week of the Easter break. The barn is a great space for for a family, with a lovely open-plan living area. The decor throughout is beautiful and the bedrooms are quirky, featuring bold floral patterns. The beds were very comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. Read more The facilities were also excellent, with a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier, which made our stay much easier. The welcome pack was a great added bonus, with some yummy treats. The log fire was cosy in the evenings, although the central heating is very effective and warms the barn up quickly. However, we personally wouldn't return. The main reason for this is that neither of the upstairs bedrooms had blinds fitted to the velux windows. These windows are naturally very high and unreachable. We found ourselves awake each morning at 05.15 due to the sunshine beaming down onto the beds. The children were pulling their duvets over their faces to try and get back to sleep, but were then too hot. We tried to source some eye masks locally to no avail. In other barn conversions that we have stayed in, there have either been electronic blinds or ones operated with a pole, which would have made a huge difference. Another consideration to be aware of before booking is the main road that runs directly next to the barn. It is a very fast, busy road, which could be a concern for families with young children as there is no gate . The road can be noisy at times particularly with motorbikes. It is worth noting that there are no accessible grassed areas at the property for children to play on - only a small courtyard, suitable for x4 people to sit, which is overlooked by other permanent residents of the barn. Overall, a stunning property with many positive features, but due to the points above, it wasn't quite the right fit for us. Hide
