An exquisite cottage in the charming Colehill area of Wimborne Minster, this inviting retreat is the perfect Dorset holiday haven for a small family or a couple on a romantic break. Sleeping three guests, with the option of an additional child by special arrangement, the two-bedroom hideaway encompasses superb living space plus a pretty garden, with a deck, patio and two levels of lawn. Situated just over 1 mile from the centre of the colourful market town, the hideaway is well placed for shops, eateries and the minster, which has a history reaching back to the 8th century. Wander round Walford Mill Crafts and Wimborne Model Town and Gardens or visit nearby National Trust properties. Head out on walks beside the River Stour or through the verdant Dorset countryside. Plan days out to the New Forest, 10 miles away, or the beach at Alum Chine in vibrant Bournemouth, 10.5 miles away.

Take two steps up to let yourselves into this welcoming, red-brick cottage via the covered porch. Find yourselves in the spacious snug, which features a wood burner, a Smart TV and DVD player and comfortable seating to relax on after your latest excursion. Head on through the cottage to find the jewel in its crown, a splendid lounge/kitchen/diner, with a flagstone floor and additional soft seating and another wood burner at one end. Here, you’ll also find another Smart TV for catching up on your current box set. Choose a book from the shelves, play a game, or take turns at whipping up the next delicious meal using the Dorset produce you have bought in town. The kitchen, which has an orangery-style roof lantern, is a bright, contemporary space, which has been designed to incorporate everything you will need during your stay. The long wooden table provides plenty of dining space. A handy, separate utility room with tumble dryer and WC can be found towards the end of the kitchen. Climb the stairs to the first floor of the cottage to find your bedrooms and the stylish family bathroom. One of the bedrooms is a cosy double and the other is a bunk bedroom, with 3’ bunks. Here, the top bunk can be available for an extra child upon request.

Step out into the garden from the kitchen to dine out in the fresh air and sunshine on either the patio or the decking. The long garden has two levels of lawn and is enclosed by hedging, there is a small pond at the top of the garden. It is the perfect place to relax over a bottle of wine and watch the visiting birdlife. There is private, off-road parking for three cars at the cottage.

The house is very well maintained and was cleaned to a high standard throughout. The facilities and equipment are great. Garden is a decent size and includes an area to sit out in. Wimborne is conveniently located with lots of attractions nearby and the house as a good co op about 2 minutes walk away so you can pick up those last minute essentiRead moreals. Hide
