A charming Irish retreat situated close to the Bridges of Ross on the west coast of Ireland, this County Clare hideaway is simply idyllic for anyone who loves the great outdoors. Positioned just 250 metres from the Atlantic on the picturesque Loop Head Peninsula, the friendly one-bedroom, single-storey cottage sleeps two guests, with the option of two more enjoying the comfort of a sofa bed in the lounge. Situated 12 miles from Kilkee, with its charming horseshoe bay and beautiful beach, it is just 2 miles from Kilbaha, where there is an art gallery, cafe and restaurant. You can also take a boat trip from here to go sea fishing or dolphin spotting. Lace up your walking boots and stride straight out along the rugged Bridges of Ross, with their striking, natural rock arches, to enjoy the sweeping coastal views. Hike 4.5 miles out to see the Loop Head Lighthouse.

Tear yourselves away from the incredible views to enter this cosy holiday haven. At the heart of the cottage is a generous, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with a vaulted wooden ceiling and great stone fireplace that houses a wood burner. Fire this up on autumn and winter days so it throws its welcoming heat right across the comfortable space, which has a lovely, homely ambience. Sink back into the sofa to watch TV, read your books or make plans for the following day’s adventures. The sofa can also be made up as a bed to accommodate an additional two guests if agreed in advance. Find everything you need in the kitchen to help you whip up homecooked meals with the delicious local produce you have sourced on your trips out. Gather round the table to enjoy hearty meals to set you up for each exciting excursion. When you are ready to turn in for the night, head through to your charming double bedroom, with its exposed stone walls, to indulge in a superb sleep. There is a family shower room where you can enjoy a steaming hot shower when you awake or following afternoons on the beach. There is a handy utility room, with a microwave and freezer, as well as a useful washing machine and tumble dryer, at the cottage.

Carry morning coffee out into the sunny garden on fine days. Dine out here under the stars on warm summer evenings. There is private, off-road parking for guests at this property.
