This stylish contemporary barn conversion nestles on a hill with extensive views over 3 counties, Dorset, Somerset and Devon. Situated on a 60-acre farm, the sheep graze old pasture, water meadows and wooded ravines and a popular 300 year old pub is 100m stroll from the farm gate. The surrounding countryside offers popular walks such as the ‘Parrett trail’ and ‘Monarchs way’ and the nearby pretty town of Beaminster (4.5 miles) boasts good restaurants, artisan shops, local produce and is host to festivals celebrating the arts. National Trust Mapperton, Montecute and Forde Abbey are all within easy reach, and are favourite Jane Austen and Thomas Hardy film locations. The historic towns of Bridport and Dorchester are both close by and hold markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The spectacular Jurassic coast is within 12 miles where fossil hunters, boat trips, beaches and fishing await, as well as the seaside towns of West Bay and Lyme Regis.

This property’s eco credentials include ground source energy, which supplies underfloor heating to the ground floor living area and kitchen, bedroom radiators and baseline water heating, topped up with solar panels and supplemented electricity. A large wood burning stove is the focal point in this grand open-plan living area with huge floor-to-ceiling glass doors flooding the space with natural light. It is comfortably furnished with easy chairs, bean bags and sofa, a long dining table with seating for 12-14, and original artwork on the walls. It has a chic atmosphere, with natural styling and is ideal for sociable dinners, leisurely lunches and if the weather is warm, the large glass bi-fold doors can open all the way to let the outside inside. In the winter it is cosy and warm, with space to spread out, enjoy the collections of board games, puzzles, a large Smart TV, additional projector and screen as well as an extensive library of DVDs for your indoor entertainment. Up a few steps are 2 WCs and a small additional kitchenette with a bottle fridge. Adjacent to the living area a large and well-equipped colourful kitchen has a spiral staircase leading up to a mezzanine utility area with washing machine and tumble dryer, and a further short spiral takes you to the first floor, where a wide hall and cosy reading areas lead you into the 5 ensuite bedrooms. These are beautifully presented, each with a smart TV, skylights with electric blinds and ensuite bathrooms. All bathrooms have WCs, walk-in showers and two have additional baths. Adjacent to the property is auxiliary accommodation, with the ground floor providing a boot room and wet dog area for the main property. Within this boot room, a spiral metal staircase leads to a separate first floor self-contained studio apartment, with double bed, sitting area, kitchenette and bathroom with walk-in shower.

Outside, the enclosed garden is perfectly set up for al fresco dining and the extensive lawn is ideal for children to run free or play in the shepherd’s hut, while the adults relax and take in the stunning views. A BBQ, croquet set, and table tennis are available for garden use.

We had a wonderful family holiday at the Court Farm Gallery. It was just perfect for our party of 5 adults and 6 children ranging from 5 to 18 years old. Stacks of room for everyone and some quiet places when needed. Lots of good indoor and outdoor games including Boules, Croquet and a good table tennis table with plenty of ping pong balls and batsRead more. Large TV and even larger projector/screen with a huge selection of DVDs ! There's also plenty of outdoor seating if you're lucky enough to have the great weather we enjoyed. The owners live next door and were extremely helpful and friendly. The kids had a whale of a time in the large garden. The views over Dorset, Somerset and Devon are magnificent and the sunsets gorgeous. We would thoroughly recommend this venue. Hide
