An irresistible blend of traditional character and contemporary comfort, this high-quality bijou getaway has been designed with great flair and attention to detail and is the perfect spot for a solo adventure or romantic couple’s escape. Set on the edge of the National Trust’s Lanhydrock estate, it’s surrounded by gorgeous scenery, from majestic oaks to a gently winding river, and is ideal for anyone who loves spending time immersed in nature and, of course, for dog walks galore. The magnificent Lanydrock House is around 1 mile away, while the historic town of Lostwithiel is just 3.5 miles distant, where you’ll find a choice of places to eat and a host of intriguing independent shops. For a day at the beach, Polkerris is 11.5 miles away, and offers a water sports centre and a pub, while the smart maritime town of Fowey, another centre for great food and shops, is only 11 miles.

Follow the uneven external stone steps up from the road and then take the steps down and cross the patio to find the front door. Once inside this appealing former agricultural building, the mix of exposed stone and brick, natural textures and a simple, co-ordinated colour scheme makes for a fresh, calm, and tranquil feel. Hang your coats up by the door and settle in for the evening. Your living space is open-plan, with a compact kitchen at one end of the room. Dine at the breakfast bar with two high stools, and then head to the large sofa and snuggle up next to the wood burner. For entertainment, there’s a Smart TV to catch up on a favourite programme. Leading off the lounge, the king-size bedroom is a cosy space, limited at each side of the bed but with the most beautiful bed linen and a small hanging rail and drawers for storage. Through a characterful wooden doorway you’ll find a sleek and elegant shower room.

When fresh air and sunshine beckon, step outside to your private, enclosed patio, which is furnished with seating for lounging with a good book or a cup of coffee (or something stronger). If you’ve been for a muddy walk you can rinse boots or paws with the dog shower. You’ll have allocated parking for one car outside the property.

  • 1 king-size bedroom
  • 1 en-suite shower room with WC (bathrobes provided)
  • 2-ring electric hob, fridge/freezer, combination oven/microwave, coffee machine
  • Wood burner (first basket of logs supplied)

  • Allocated parking for 1 car
  • Shop and pub, 3.5 miles, beach 11.5 miles

  • Please note that there are some uneven stone steps leading from the road up to the front gate

This cottage was so cute and cosy and had everything we needed. The location is also perfect with fantastic walks straight from the cottage or coastal paths and beaches 20mins drive away.

This is a hidden gem. If you're looking for a unique romantic getaway or a place to stay with your dog to explore the local area this is perfect. If you love quirky but homely this is the place for you. The occasional ducking your head is required but my husband is Dutch and tall and we had no issues providing you duck in the right place. The ownerRead mores have evidently really thought about everything and are very attentive. Truly a lovely place to stay. Hide

We found it to be cosy, quiet, well equipped and well placed to get to to places such as Fowey. It was a short walk to woods if you have a dog which are welcome, we felt rested after our 5 nights stay, we would use again.

We really enjoyed our stay in this cosy cottage! Despite its small size, it was comfy for two people and is in a great location for exploring both the North and South coasts.

The Piggery was perfect for us with lots of walks from the front door, including the National Trusts Lanhydrock. It is centrally located with a 20 minute drive to many different villages and beaches. I would recommend this cosy cottage.
