An exquisite Dorset retreat, tucked away in delightful Swanage, this cottage is the perfect base for exploring the magnificent Isle of Purbeck. Sleeping six guests, this four-bedroom, stone hideaway offers characterful accommodation with a pretty courtyard garden. Situated 0.5 miles from the town’s sandy beach, it is well-positioned for shops, eateries and the South West Coast Path. Head out on scenic walks along the Jurassic Coast or while away sunny days on the beaches at the National Trust’s Studland Bay (4 miles). Stroll 1 mile from the cottage to take in the views from Peveril Point. Catch a steam train out along the Swanage Railway to Corfe Castle, with its famous ruins, 5.5 miles away. Plan day trips out across the Purbeck Peninsula to beauty spots such as picturesque Lulworth Cove, 17 miles away, and the natural limestone arch of Durdle Door, 18 miles from the cottage.

Stepping into this three-storey cottage you will immediately encounter its cosy, ambient lounge. There is ample seating to enjoy watching the Smart TV. In the next room is the kitchen, which has everything you need to help you prepare home-cooked meals when you are not dining out in one of Swanage’s many eateries. The kitchen also has a door to the courtyard garden. The dining room, with a great stone chimney breast, has a table for lively holiday meals and shelves with books and games for you to choose from. A handy utility room with a washing machine, freezer and WC can also be found downstairs. Climb the carpeted stairs up from the lounge to discover your bedrooms on the upper floors. A double bedroom, a single and the family bathroom are on the first floor, while another double and single, both with some sloping ceilings, are on the level above. The spacious bathroom includes a freestanding bath where you can soak after your long coastal walks.

Treat yourselves to morning coffee out in the lovely walled courtyard, stepping up carefully to the patio where there is outdoor furniture. There is on-street parking outside the property (subject to availability).

Good location and pretty terraced family cottage. The layout worked well for a large family, especially upstairs with good sized bedrooms and the large family bathroom. Private road was safe for small children and the access to grass and nature reserve was pwrfect with gogs in tow.
