Head out onto the coast path where you can walk north towards St Agnes or south towards Portreath. Stop for lunch at the trendy Blue Bar on the beach at Porthtowan. This stretch of coastline is famous for its surfing, long sandy beaches, the coast to coast cycle trail and the mining heritage with former engine houses and mine stacks dotted around the landscape. A 15 mile drive is all it takes to cross the county to explore the gentle south coast around Falmouth with its wonderful maritime scene.

Porthtowan beach has a seasonal dog ban 15th May to 30th September between 10am and 6pm. Outside these hours and between 1st October and the 14th of May dogs are allowed on the beach.
