Leave the car and stroll to Beadnell Bay Beach (under 500 metres) from the doorstep; with a view of nearby Dunstanburgh Castle from the bay and dunes aplenty, this is the perfect spot for picnics. Children will enjoy rock pooling and you can watch the kite surfers doing their thing. Eat brunch in the beachside cafe and dine in the pub/restaurants and bistro/cafe in the village. The general store stocks many essentials too. Walk or cycle the coastal path to Seahouses (2.5 miles) for more shops, bars and restaurants and the bustling fishing harbour. Book a boat trip to the Farne Islands to see local wildlife including grey seals, puffins in the season and an array of nesting sea birds. Explore Bamburgh Castle (6 miles) and its popular village amenities, enjoy seafood in Craster (9.5 miles) followed by a walk to Dunstanburgh Castle and spend a day at Alnwick Castle and Gardens (14.5 miles).

This lovely family beach house has plenty of room for everyone to spread out and relax. The hallway leads to a cloakroom where you can hang your coats on hooks and store your shoes and walking boots. There is also a useful downstairs WC here. Heading into the lounge which overlooks the garden, you will find two comfortable sofas and a large footstool where you can sit and unwind after a day on the beach, and there is a Smart TV for family movie nights. The ‘snug’ is also off the hallway with a large, comfortable sofa, a bean bag and a Smart TV, perfect for older children to ‘escape’ the adults. The well-equipped kitchen/diner has everything you need to prepare your meals and drinks including an electric hob, oven and grill, an American-style fridge/freezer with an ice maker, a microwave and a dishwasher. The dining table faces the French doors leading to the garden so in the warmer months, you can easily enjoy laid-back, indoor/outdoor living. The utility room is off the kitchen with a washing machine, a sink and a heated towel rail. The back door leads from here to the garden. The four bedrooms are on the first floor with plenty of storage space for your things. There are two king-size bedrooms, each with an en-suite shower and WC, a twin bedroom with open hanging space, and a bunk bedroom with a wardrobe. The family bathroom comprises a shower over the bath and a WC.

Outside at the rear, there is a large, enclosed lawn garden and a patio area with plenty of garden furniture to relax on and a charcoal BBQ for al fresco family dining. At the front, there is a driveway with space for two cars, plus free on-street parking in front of the house.

On the whole this is a lovely house for a holidays, fantastic location, well equipped and nicely presented. Unfortunately there were a number of niggly faults, including inadequate cleaning, a leaky fridge, bed slats falling out, and a large area of rotting decking in the garden (complete with rabbit corpse) that rather took the shine off it.

Good location close to the beach which is the reason for staying in Beadnell. Love it here lovely base to explore the Northumbria coastline. The house is clean and functional. Plenty of space for families with a enclosed garden which our dog loved.

This was a beautiful house, very clean and very comfortable. If you have very small dogs like we do then the bottom of the garden is a real worry.
