This secluded, pet-friendly house offers a lovely holiday base for a large family or a group of friends, with a host of attractions for all ages within easy reach. The striking contemporary property sleeps six guests and is less than a mile from the shops, pubs and restaurants of Lydney. The town is on the mighty River Severn, and you can enjoy wonderful views on walks along the estuary. Beautiful Bathurst Park has an excellent café, a children’s play area and tennis courts, and Lydney also boasts a splendid lido. Enjoy a gentle pace of travel on the Dean Forest Railway from Lydney Junction. The heritage steam train stops at five charming country stations and takes you deep into the Forest of Dean. From there, you can walk or cycle through ancient woodland – look out for the remarkable 4-mile Sculpture Trail, with works by leading artists set among the trees.

Tucked away at the end of a quiet lane, this distinctive single-storey holiday home is beautifully furnished and fitted in great style, with neutral tones and splashes of mustard yellow. Cleverly designed to overlook the lovely gardens, it features large windows and vaulted ceilings in the delightful split-level living space. This comprises the compact kitchen and adjacent dining area, with patio doors opening onto the raised outside terrace. Two steps lead down into the airy lounge, where you can relax on the sumptuous sofa and easy chairs, watch the Smart TV and look out to the sheltered rear garden. To the left of the hallway are three inviting bedrooms, comprising a double, a twin zip-and-link and a bunk room, with full sized single beds all with garden views. The sleek shower room has a walk-in shower and there is also a separate WC.

Outside, the raised terrace with seating is a peaceful spot for drinks in the garden. There is also a patio with a table and chairs to the rear. There is private parking for three cars.
