Leave reality behind and step through the pages of a novel at this charming cottage steeped in history and nestled in the heart of Minster on Sea; long walks and beaches beckon small families and space-seeking couples. One of the oldest villages in Kent, Minster on Sea is brimming with history, home to the ancient Minster Abbey only a stroll away and a variety of fantastic independent shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. Visit Eastchurch Aviation Museum to learn about the Wright Brothers and where powered flight began. Those who love life by the water can skim stones out to sea at the shingled Minster Leas Beach (1.5 miles), before enjoying a peaceful stroll along the promenade which offers lovely views over the North Sea, The Swale and The Nore. Set across 3,300 acres, the wonderful wilderness and breathtaking beauty of Elmley Nature Reserve can be reached within 5 miles.

Sympathetic to the cottage’s rich history, boasting authentic rustic touches that’ll transport you to times past, the cosy lounge is perfect for relaxing, whilst the small library offers an escape for those seeking some peace. Kept toasty by the roaring wood burner, boasting beautiful antique-style pieces, the spacious dining room and adjoining kitchen (two steps up from the dining room) will capture your imagination, inspiring you to try something creative with fresh ingredients from the local farm shop; on a fine evening, throw open the patio doors to enjoy the evening breeze. As you ascend the stairs, you’ll find a collection of Charles Dickens books including The Old Curiosity Shop which features this very cottage. Mirroring the charm and character of the ground floor, the two bedrooms on the first floor, one king-size and one double, both feature beautiful ceiling beams and en-suite bathrooms which boast stylish roll-top baths that add a touch of sophistication. Due to the historic character of the building, there are some low beams and doorways.

Dine alfresco on the patio with a glass of something chilled as children play garden games on the lawn of the enclosed garden. You’ll also find private parking for two cars. Please note, there may be road noise at busy times of the day.

Fabulous comfy cottage finished to a high spec; a real cosy home from home. Well equipped and clean. The substantial welcome pack was a lovely touch and much appreciated. There is plenty of space for four people and this is a great location for exploring Kent. Would definitely rebook.
