One mile through country lane is Medieval Colyton, home to many historic buildings and winding lanes lined with a fantastic selection of local shops, restaurants and tea rooms. Running through miles of unspoilt countryside alongside the River Axe wetlands, take a ride on the quaint Seaton Tramway from Colyton Tram Station a mile away to the seaside of Seaton (3.5 miles) which lies on the edge of the Jurassic Coast.  The pretty village of Colyford is nestled in the heart of the Coly Valley, set in East Devon’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, can all be reached within 4.5 miles. The property is within easy reach of Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage and Shute Barton National Trust.

Reminiscent of an authentic farmhouse, this property is adorned with delightful country-cottage style décor and gorgeous original features including stone flooring and beautiful beam work. Absolutely beautiful Farm Barn, comfy and well fitted out with everything needed. We were three generations, the youngest just eight months old and it couldn't have been better for us. Beautifully restored barn in a great rural setting, overlooked by geese, chickens and cattle in surrounding fields. Perfect for families seeking a quiet holiday in wonderful south-east Devon. We found Gittishayne a superb place to stay. The Barn was equipped with everything you would need for your stay and more, the whole place was very comfortable and superbly clean. We loved staying on the farm and were welcomed warmly by Margaret and Brian plus Molly the dog who my grandson fell in love with. On arrival Margaret had left us scones, jRead moream and cream plus other goodies in the kitchen which we enjoyed immensely. I would recommend Gittishayne Barn wholeheartedlymost enjoyable. Hide

We had a lovely stay at Gittishayne Farm Barn, the rooms were very comfortable. Although rural it wasnt far by car to lots of lovely places in Devon. The owners provide everything you could possibly need for a great holiday cottage rental. We will definitely recommend and wouldnt hesitate to return ourselves in the future.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage and enjoyed the peace and tranquillity. Margaret is a magnificent host, greeting us upon our arrival. We were delighted to find two bottles of wine, scones, cream and jam, tea, coffee and milk all waiting for us. The owners were very friendly and welcoming, every trying was thought of and well presented. The property was also super clean and in good condition. The cottage was perfect for our stay. Good sized and well equipped kitchen, lovely dining room and a lounge with wood burner. Stayed here for a long weekend with 4 generations of family including 1 with reduced mobility , the downstairs bedroom and ensuite was perfect for him. All the bedrooms are very large with plenty of storage and lovely comfortable beds. We was a large group and it never felt crowded. The kitchen has every utensil you could need and there was plenty Read moreof plates, glasses etc. The property is rural but not far from the lovely village of Colyton with a well stocked shop.
