Set in the friendly village of Kentisbeare, this delightful cottage makes a fantastic holiday retreat for couples and smaller families exploring the beautiful countryside at the heart of Devon. Kentisbeare village offers a pub next door, and a local shop across the road from the cottage and miles of leafy country lane walks, all from your door. Just a mile to the east, The Blackdown Hills offer more breath-taking walks, with deep valleys, picturesque hedgerows and quiet copses. To the west, the vibrant town of Tiverton (9 miles) is full of character, with a variety of independent pubs and restaurants alongside a tranquil canal featuring the country’s last horse-drawn barges. The area also has a wealth of landmarks and attractions in this stunning part of the county, including Wildwood Escot (8 miles), Crealy Adventure Park (12 miles) and beautiful beaches for bathing, rock-pooling or fossil hunting ( Exmouth 18 miles, Branscombe 15 miles, Beer 16 miles. Voted The Prettiest Village in Devon, Broadhembury lies 3 miles to the east and offers a wonderful pub, The Drewe Arms for lovely meals and music in the garden at weekends.

Featuring ample space for up to four guests, this cheerful property features a sweet and relaxing lounge with welcoming underfloor heating and an electric wood burner, TV and comfortable seating. When it’s time to eat, the spacious, bright and stylish country-style kitchen/diner has ample equipment and a central dining table. The ground floor also features a refreshing family bathroom. Heading upstairs, the landing and both bedrooms have beautiful timber beams set in the vaulted ceilings. When it’s time to turn in, you can choose between a cosy twin room with a skylight allowing natural sunlight to stream in, and a beautiful king-size room with a dressing table and ample storage space.

From the lounge, patio doors lead out into the charming back garden. With plenty of outdoor furniture, a BBQ, a patio and a small lawn, this is a lovely space to settle back and unwind together on a sunny summer’s afternoon. There’s also a bench in the front garden, perfect for enjoying a coffee first thing.

The cottage is situated in a lovely quiet village. The owners are very friendly and accommodating, accepting our booking at very short notice. We will return in the future.
