Comfortable, cosy and with an incredibly well equipped kitchen. Lovely welcome goodies, much appreciated! Very friendly and helpful owners who helped us out promptly with a small issue while we were there. Great location, very tranquil, walks from the door. Notes for dog owners - garden is very big and well enclosed. Dog bowls and a pile of dog toRead morewels provided, very handy! If you have a reactive or anxious dog, please note that the nearby farm does have dogs therefore some barking. A crop scarer was going off every 10-15 mins in daylight hours, audible for a few miles around (our dog is afraid of these). Hide

A nice comfortable house, well equipt with enough cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils for a good size hotel! The location is just what one might expect from "The Dales" area, with picturesque surroundings, peaceful and beautifully quiet, other than the ever present chickens and crowing cockerel, which is quite acceptable for the country area.Read more A very good place to stay to walk and explore the surrounding countryside. One small niggle was the lack of any live TV as advertised, just the smart TV with only the usual dross to watch during a quiet "evening in". Hide

This is a fantastic cottage! We were three adults and a dog and we had plenty of space. The garden is huge, with lots of seating and there is a barbecue. Views from every window. Location is stunning. We stayed in April and there were curlews, lapwings and oystercatchers everywhere! Lots of options for walking (with or without getting in the car), Read morewhether you want a gentle potter or a full day fell walking. The kitchen is the most well-equipped I have ever seen. There is no conventional cooker - instead there is an aga, two air fryers and a portable hob. Cooking on the aga was a lot of fun, but it does lose it's heat in the evening so forward planning is required! The parking instructions mentioned a garage - don't be fooled by the outbuilding to the left of the property - the real garage has been demolished but there is a parking bay on the right hand side of the front door. We loved our stay at West End. The photos do not do the property justice. Stunning location for those who want to get away from it all whilst still being within easy access to The Dales. Walks and cycles from the doorstep and we will definitely be returning.
