A charming stone cottage, lying within the pretty village of Egton, guests can enjoy a couple of welcoming country pubs virtually on the doorstep, along with a village shop within 1.5 miles in Grosmont. You can catch the local North Yorkshire Moors steam train from Grosmont to Goathland, a pretty village with roaming sheep, also known as the fictional village "Aidensfield" in Heartbeat, or the market town of Pickering for a spot of lunch or shopping. The coastal town of Whitby sits just 7 miles away, where you can make the most of charming shops, delicious eateries and welcoming countryside pubs, alongside Whitby Abbey and Pannett Park. That's not all, the cottage is located within the heart of the North York Moors National Park, so you can meander the scenic countryside that surrounds you.

Upon entering, you're greeted by a sense of warmth and comfort. The ground floor comprises a living room, dining room, and kitchen. The living room features a corner sofa, two leather armchairs, and a large TV. A beautiful, tiled fireplace adds a comforting touch, while double doors open out onto the well-kept garden. The dining room seats eight around a large rectangular table and boasts bold dining chairs and a cast-iron wood burner. A large window hatch connects the kitchen, allowing for easy socialising while you cook. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need for a short break or longer getaway, with high-spec appliances, handmade shelving, and large stone tiles. The ground floor also benefits from underfloor heating. Upstairs, you'll find three bedrooms. The first features a super-king-size dark wooden platform bed and an ornamental fireplace. The second bedroom has a wooden king-size bed and a spacious walk-in wardrobe. The third bedroom, perfect for younger guests, includes fabric-covered bunk beds, and floral print wallpaper for a country cottage feel. The family bathroom on this floor features a large free-standing bath, a walk-in shower, and a WC. Ascend the narrow staircase to the second floor to find the master bedroom and en-suite. The en-suite makes exceptional use of space with a large free-standing bath, walk-in shower, and WC. Across the hall from the master en-suite, you'll discover a secret snug filled with floor cushions and a TV, the perfect retreat for teens.

Arncliffe View is a lovley cottage in a fantastic location. There are beautiful views and a couple of great pubs very close by. The welcome pack was much appreciared. If you are planning to do much self-catering I would recommend taking oven gloves, a cheese grater and a bread board as the provision of kitchen equipment is slightly random. The shRead moreowers were pretty good for an older property and the first floor bedrooms (excluding the bunk bed one) and bathroom were very spacious. Be aware that there are no window coverings in the attic bedroom. We quite liked the fact that you could see straight out over the fields but if youre a light sleeper you might need an eye mask if you want to sleep past 4.30am. Hide

This is a lovely cottage in a lovely location. The kitchen could be better equipped and maybe with instruction manuals for the cooker and underfloor heating but otherwise it was very comfortable. We enjoyed some lovely walks making use of the local train (though it is important to check the timetable as the trains are very infrequent) and enjoyed Read moreday trips to Whitby, Scarborough and Staithes. The pub across the road was a great place for a cheeky pint or a lovely meal. Hide

A good cottage could be a brilliant cottage with some minor improvements

Arncliffe View at Egton was in a perfect location with two pubs directly opposite, serving food. Easy to drive to Whitby and Scarborough. Bedrooms were spacious and comfortable with big beds to really stretch out in. The two bathrooms were also a welcome addition. Social areas (lounge and dining room) were also large with ample seating for 6 peoplRead moree. Beautiful fenced courtyard and garden were perfect for my 8 month old puppy to run around in. Surrounding area was lovely, with great views of the Yorkshire moors from the cottage windows. The kitchen would have benefited from more equipment, however we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend. Hide

If you want a property that is poorly equipped, poorly cleaned and maintained then this is the property for you. The white sofa is badly stained, the outside table is broken and only 4 chairs available. However the property is in a beautiful location with a fantastic pub opposite, its a shame the house has not been given some care and attention.

Wonderful location and comfortable cottage but master suite is a challenge if youre tall.
