Property code: OC-T29691

One of two holiday lodges with lakeside views surrounded by countryside, this delightful property offers peaceful, comfortable accommodation to couples or small families with the dogs in tow. The host village of Madley sits just one mile away, where you’ll find a local shop and a welcoming village pub. The quiet hamlet of Canon Bridge is also within a mile where another shop awaits, as well as tennis courts and a 9-hole golf course. Walkers and lovers of the outdoors will delight in the choice of trails all around, with popular spots including the famous Offa’s Dyke Path which passes through Hay-on-Wye (16 miles), which is otherwise known as the Town of Books thanks to the wealth of charming bookshops that line its historic streets. Also within 16 miles are the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons National Park – both of which are havens for outdoor adventures.

On arrival to this peaceful holiday lodge, take a moment to appreciate its elevated position and the splendid views of the nearby fishing lakes and distant, rolling countryside. Step into the vibrant entrance hall where you can kick off muddy walking boots or wipe down muddy paws, and walk into the heart of the lodge, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. After days of countryside rambles, settle in the comfortable seating where you can simply enjoy the views through the glass doors or flick on the Smart TV to catch up on your favourite shows. When it’s time to eat, find that the well-equipped kitchen sits at the rear of the living space and boasts everything needed to cook up holiday feasts for your loved ones. Gather around the traditional dining table here to enjoy the chef’s work, or outside on the terrace to dine alfresco-style. When day turns to night, head into the hallway which leads to two cosy bedrooms, both with calming decor and verdant views. Choose from a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room, or served by the well-appointed family shower room, a welcoming twin room.

Outside, the tranquil garden space offers splendid views across the countryside and nearby fishing lakes. Enjoy al fresco morning brews and evening meals using the table and chairs on the terrace, and feel free to explore the shared grounds where you’ll find three lakes and lush farmland.
