We loved the cottage, particularly for its location, moments from the village and the beach. Worth the short walk up the slope! (it is not suitable for guests with mobility issues due to the walk up to the cottage, don't book it and hope). We know Sennen and the surrounding area well and just wanted to be near the beach and pub to relax as we weRead morere there for a post- A level rest with adult kids. I wasn't in the mood to cook much so we ate at the Old Success, the Fish and chip shop and we loved the cafe which does great breakfasts and lunches. The cottage has everything you'd need if you want to cook, and we appreciated the coffee, tea, biscuits and milk on arrival, and I was impressed by the presence of a proper tea pot!! The Old Boathouse shop is nearby and stocks useful food supplies and random swimwear, flip flops, gifts, maps etc. You don't have to do much, it's all very easy going in Sennen, but if you're here for the first time, there is loads to see and do in the local area and Sennen is a good place to access it all. We'd recommend Geevor and Levant, Botallack, St Ives, Porthcurno, the Minnack, St Just, Carn Euny, Polgoon vineyard. We popped to a favourite pub, the North inn at Pendeen for their lovely pies, went to Mousehole on the bus while our elec car charged in the car park in Penzance (you can't park easily in Mousehole anyway, this is definitely the best way to get there). The cottage is right next to the SW Coastal path so we walked to LandsEnd, which isn't much to look at itself, but the walk is spectacular. The cottage is very well appointed for relaxing, with games, TV and the most beautiful upper patio above the back of the house, where you can see the entire beach and headlands to Cape Cornwall. The only thing that didn't work out was the weather and we only got to enjoy the incredible views for one sunny day. After that the entire area was covered in mist til the day we left. The beach is beautiful regardless and emptier when the weather isn't at its best, so we didn't mind (much). We were treated to a training launch of the lifeboat, (you can also see the lifeboat any time if you visit the RNLI shop), followed by crab sandwich and chips from the chippy. Although you can't park at the property, the car park is just at the bottom of the slope and we were relieved to find it is now pay by Ringo so you can top up the parking remotely from the cottage (which has good wifi) A lovely stay and hopefully we'll be back.
