This idyllic Grade II-listed cottage sits in the heart of the village, which nestles in a picturesque valley between the natural beauty of Powerstock Common and the majestic Eggardon Hill. An ideal starting point for numerous walking and cycling routes, set off and explore this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or visit the choice of local pubs, the first of which is just 100 metres away, and another within a quarter of a mile via a public footpath. The ever-popular Jurassic Coast is a mere 5 miles away and you’ll find many renowned attractions within 15 miles, including Abbotsbury, Burton Bradstock, West Bay, the South West Coast Path, the vibrant town of Bridport, famous for its bustling market and vintage shops, plus Lyme Regis, where you can marvel at the historic Cobb Harbour or explore the galleries.

Take the entrance door into the inviting country kitchen, where you can choose between cooking on the traditional oil-fired AGA or the contemporary electric AGA. There is space to dine at a central table and a handy utility room next door, ideal for muddy boots and coats. A bathroom leads from here and there is a door to the garden. At the opposite end of the cottage is the spacious lounge. Comfortable furniture is arranged around the fabulous inglenook fireplace, which is fitted with a wood burner. Enjoy your favourite shows on the Smart TV or settle down with a good book. Heading upstairs via a staircase in the kitchen you will find three pretty bedrooms. A bathroom completes the first-floor accommodation. Due to the age of the property, there are some changes of level and low doorways, which only adds to the character and charm of the building.

Head outside into the enclosed garden from the front door or utility room. Take cuttings from the herb garden or light up the charcoal BBQ and enjoy dining alfresco. Steps lead up to an area of lawn, which is lined by established borders. A particular feature of this property is its proximity to the charming village church, where you can hear the bells marking the time as they have done for centuries.

well appointed cottage in beautiful landscape close to Jurassic coast and several interesting sites to visit. Quality sheets and towels, plenty of basics in the kitchen like oil, vinegar, salt/pepper and herbs. Dishwasher and washer/dryer work perfectly. one has to be very careful if you're tall (doorways and ceilings)

Rose Cottage is a lovely place to spend some time. It is very well equipped and comfortable. It is well maintained and tastefully decorated. Although a bit away from the sea it is in the heart of beautiful walking country.

The property was excellent. We loved the aga and plenty of crockery and glasses for us. The beds were comfortable and the linen was quality. We loved the special touch of white company products on each bed. The area is beautiful and conveniently located to Bridport, stunning countryside. Thank you. We shall definitely return.

Superbly equipped and very comfortable cottage. Being 6ft+ , I found head height a little low, but nothing that bit of stooping couldn't overcome. Lovely situation with good walks from cottage, and coast only a few miles away.
