Take a wander around the pretty town of Bakewell trying out it's famous Bakewell puddings, explore stately Chatsworth House, only a short drive away, or the National Trust property, Hardwick Hall, slightly further afield. Buxton, a popular spa town based in the heart of the Peak District is not far from the farm, boasting magnificent architecture and an array of shops and gorgeous scenery, perfect for a day trip. Foolow village is a pretty and very traditional limestone village with many beautiful walks. In the centre of the village is a picturesque duck pond where you can sit and watch the world go by or enjoy calling into the local village pub. There’s plenty of attractions and things to do in the surrounding area. Why not bring your bikes and enjoy the endless country lanes and railway cycling trails like Monsal Dale or the Tissington trail.

The cottage welcomes you with open arms as you enter through into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Observe the character of the old oak beams, sink into the comfort of the cushioned sofas in front of the wood burner’s gentle crackle as the underfloor heating also warms you. Flick on the TV/DVD to watch your favourite soap, a film or just relax with a good book. Have a natter with everyone whilst you cook in the well-equipped kitchen with range style electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and all the other essential kitchen items. Gather round the extendable dining table for up to eight guests for a wonderful evening meal, perfect for accommodating friends and family. The utility room provides a washing machine and plenty of space to house those muddy boots and coats after a long days walk. Heading upstairs to the first floor there is a king-size bedroom with en-suite shower room and WC, a double bedroom and twin bedroom. The family bathroom is fresh and inviting with a bath just waiting for you to sink in to, with overhead shower and fluffy white towels.

At the front of the cottage is a spacious lawn where the kids can burn off some steam playing garden games. The cottage was lovely and very cozy. The location was great, with potential for long walks but also close to the village and pub. We all enjoyed our stay very much and would consider returning in the future.

Range oven not working one side and other oven door seal broken allowing heat escape making cooking difficult for 6 all week. Owner advised but did not hear back as told. Main bedroom mattress uncomfortable and lumpy. Saucepans, frying pans etc. dirty on arrival with previous guests food. Consider that the blind cords in bedroom are dangerouRead mores for children and no window locks to prevent a fall. No stairgate for young children. Wardrobe door very stiff to open and close. No potato masher, whisk or saucepan to fit steamer otherwise equipped. No fire glove for log burner door which gets very hot. Lovely location the area there's plenty to do and places to visit. Unfortunately a disappointing stay due to issues found for the price. Hide

The perfect cottage in the perfect location! Like a home from home, very comfortable and beautifully presented. The location is perfect, an ideal base for exploring the Peak District with lots of local walks nearby. We came home yesterday and are already looking at rebooking this cottage.
