Escape to this charming cottage, nestled amidst the beauty of Dorset's coastline and countryside. Located along the main A35 in the picturesque village of Chideock, between the quirky market town of Bridport (2.5 miles) and the fossil-hunters haven of Charmouth (4 miles). It provides the perfect base for exploring the famous Dorset Jurassic Coast. Within one mile, you'll find the shores of Eype and Seatown, from where the South West Coast Path rewards walkers with spectacular views of the dramatic coastline, including Golden Cap (1.5 miles) – the highest point on the South Coast. Heading further inland there are equally rewarding walks and impressive views. For lovers of culture and history, Lyme Regis is just 6.5 miles along the coast. Walk along its historic cobbled harbour, then meander through the charming narrow lanes, with their independent shops, galleries, and cafes. To the east of the village, the coastal road offers jaw-dropping views of Chesil Beach as it takes you 20 miles to the traditional, Georgian seaside town of Weymouth, with its award-winning sandy beaches, harbourside restaurants and wide variety of family entertainment.

As you enter this inviting, stone-built cottage, you're welcomed into the spacious and cosy living room where, in winter, a wood burner radiates warmth and comfort. Sink into the plush sofas and unwind as you catch up on your favourite shows on the smart TV, watch DVDs, play games, or read from the selection of literature. The well-equipped kitchen/diner looks out on the pretty, sunny garden, and is spacious enough for all the family to dine together comfortably. On the first floor are the two airy bedrooms; one double room that looks out onto the rear garden, and one twin bedroom. Each room offers space to unwind and recharge for the adventures that await. Also on the first floor, the well-appointed family bathroom boasts a shower over the bath and completes the interior.

Outside, the rear garden is enclosed and accessible from both the kitchen and the front of the property, via a path along the side. Here you're greeted by a tranquil oasis of natural beauty. Abundant flowers, shrubs and trees attract birds, bees and butterflies, and there is also a range of organically-grown herbs for you to flavour your cooking with. A beautifully designed patio area invites you to bask in the serenity of your surroundings and the scent of honeysuckle. Whether you're savouring a morning cup of coffee or enjoying an al fresco meal, the garden offers a peaceful retreat to unwind in and soak up the beauty of nature.

We loved our stay at Hope Cottage largely because the size of the property suited us well and the location to reach the beautiful Jurassic coastline was super. The garden was pretty and suited us with a dog. The lounge was comfortable and bedrooms good sizes for us. However, our mistake, but we didnt realise it was on such a main road and the traRead moreffic both day and night was a lot and did affect our sleep sadly. It was hot and so we did need windows open too though. We did go in peak holiday season though so perhaps during quieter periods traffic and noise may reduce. Hide

Hope Cottage is fantastic. We loved our stay. The rooms are gorgeous and well equipped. The garden is delightful and we loved using it. Chideock is a lovely spot to be in to get to other parts of Dorset. The two local pubs are great and the small bay of Seatown is a short drive away for a lovely pizza and a drink in the sunshine. The road that theRead more cottage is on is a busy one so if you are a light sleeper it may impact you. It didnt stop me or the husband sleeping as we were in the main room on the back of the house, but my daughter did struggle at the start. Be warned the double bed in the main bedroom is super comfy and you may struggle to get out of bed!!!! I wanted to take the bed home with me!! Parking is available in the car park but limited and so there is a bit of anxiety each time you come home because if you cant get parked, there is no where else! However we did always get parked. We loved being here and we would definitely come back!!! Hide

Would recommend - owner really responsive - we took a taxi from Axminster for 30 and we didnt need a car.
