I've stayed at Tidal Crest a number of times. It is clean and comfortable and the location is superb. The beach and coastal path are only a pleasant 10 minutes walk away and it is just around the corner from The Craster Arms and Beadnell Towers so great for eating out.

This is a difficult review to write as I have very little positives to say. The location is perfect, it is ideally located for the local pubs and restaurant. The bus stop is around the corner and it is a quick walk to the local shop. The property has a maintenance book to record any issues so it 'appears' that they keep the property well maintaRead moreined. We have stayed at a number of apartments in this complex and this is by far the worst we have stayed in which was disappointing. First morning: The shower had no filter and was blocked which caused a flood. There was black floaters in the water around my feet. The tile floor became a slip hazard and we used many of the towels to make it safe for me to exit the shower. Read the maintenance book to discover this has been an ongoing issues for up to 2 years starting with comments of slow draining. We decided to read all the comments and to our disgust we could see that nothing had been actioned. Some light bulbs were out in every room on its own nothing but when you can see it has been logged multiple times you do have to wonder. Cobwebs were in every room after it had jest been cleaned for our arrival. The baking trays were disgusting with no attempts to remove black chinks of whatever from them. It just seemed that it was unloved. WIFI- forget it exists its not worth trying we bought it. TV are fine but old so just Freeview so not a great deal of option. So we move onto fixing the bathroom issue as we wanted solutions. That was when the holiday fell apart. Phoned to make the complaint and was told someone who be in touch to come and fix it, nothing more than that. I presumed phone call so off we went to enjoy the area. I just happened to check my email to find we were next on the list but no time frame, We dashed back and waited and waited. I had already asked if we could be moved properties as the hygiene and safety aspect was a BIG problem for me- no response by email to that. Phone calls were made to the maintenance team about how unhappy I was and how I was getting no response from any managers (only after 24 hrs). I was told they do talk to you-they did not. The maintenance man arrived with a plunger, nothing else. He plunged and left with the maintenance book! No filter cover for the hole as it was Saturday! I contacted the holiday company again and requested a move verbally this time and explained how unhappy I was that no cleaning had occurred, I mean come on we all know that is not nice! Still no way of speaking to someone in charge but a promise of a return call in a few minutes, I think I would still be waiting! I rang again 90 minutes later to be told we could move properties, he would send a list of properties to choose from and don't worry about cost- amazing. Email arrived we start to look and then that offer was changed to you have to pay for it in full. That info was not delivered by a manager which seemed strange. We again explained the shower was not clean (I had sent numerous pictures to support this) We decided to leave, yes our choice but we didn't feel comfortable and wouldn't want to shower there. If this had happened without the knowledge what was written in the book we may have felt slightly different but because the maintenance team and owner were aware of issues and responded to comments in the book about these issues we felt that this was not acceptable. ALL parties were blaming each other when in actual fact ALL parties have a responsibility in this case. Owner- maintain your property you said you take pride in that and manage the people you are trusting with your property. Maintenance team- Maintain the property. Cleaners- clean. To me that is simple. To sum up we left the property after one night, wrote a letter of complaint and then found our the company had used our booking to do some work on the property. I was even emailed that I would be happy to know they had replaced light bulbs! I was more unhappy they didn't contact me to tell me their plans as for all they knew we could have gone back, it was in all fairness still ours to use as we had paid. Not the experience I was hoping for and for some reasons I doubt this review will ever appear anywhere but just in case! Overall so much potential for the property but a lack of care really lets it down. Hide

Tidal Reach is a clean and comfortable apartment in the heart of Beadnell, within easy walking distance of most local cafes/pubs (in fact it is adjacent to the Craster Arms pub). However, when we visited there was a distinct lack of "basic" essentials (soap, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets etc) which was disappointing.
