Absolutely loved Selkie. The photos show how beautifully it is presented. The main living is space is much bigger than the photos show, as the extension on the back is really wide. I loved the light! Every morning the space is filled with light coming in through the extensive sliding doors, and as the sun moves towards the front of the house, sunRead moreshine streams in through the huge atrium glass above the dining table. Magical. Selkie is very well equipped and extremely comfortable. The shower is hot and has great water pressure. We all had showers every morning. The garden terrace is also bigger than you imagine, and full of birds, nesting in the valerian and buddleia shrubs. I saw wren, long tailed tits, great tits, black caps and robins. Location is superb, 1 minute from the Main Street, Broad street, with cafes, restaurants and pubs a plenty. I loved walking the footpath alongside the river Lim towards Uplyme, as well as the coastal seafront walks and the Lyme to Seaton walk through the undercliff. Even though the weather was very changeable, we got out and about everyday, but loved coming back to beautiful Selkie each evening. Thank you Rebecca and James for having such unparalleled design taste! Selkie is a treasure! Hide

We arrived at Selkie on a chilly rainy afternoon and the cottage was freezing! We adjusted the heating controls but it wasnt warm until the following evening. The duvets were also summer weight so we had a disappointing stay. Perhaps an alternative form of heating be provided and thicker duvets for chilly months. The cottage was comfortably furnishRead moreed and near the centre of town. We would probably stay again but only in hot weather. We would recommend the cottage but only in summer. Response from Travel Chapter: Thank you for your review. Please be aware that the property is heated via air source heat pump and therefore the thermostat is not as responsive as a conventional boiler. The property is maintained at an ambient temperature year round however if you would like the temperature increased during your stay please reach out to the Travel Chapter Property Management Team who will be happy to assist. We absolutely loved our stay. Selkie was fabulous, a beautiful place to stay, well equipped and had everything we could need. So well decorated and furnished. And the location is just so good for the beach, Cobb and town. We will come back as we loved it. Loved the colour scheme and all the little homely extras. The welcome hamper was fab.

This was our first day at Selkie and we will definitely be back. A lot of the reviews I read before booking said it was a home from home and that is true. There are plenty of wonderful cafes, pubs and restaurants nearby and throughout the town. Notable was the 'Whole Hog' for pulled pork buns and also special donuts! The Lyme Bay restaurant is also great, nice terrace overlooking the sea. Do also go to the brewery, set in a sunny courtyard...perfect! A Tesco and Co-op just a few minutes walk away were very handy as well.
