Nestled in the picturesque village of Aberyscir, once a humble agricultural structure, this converted barn has been lovingly transformed into a tranquil retreat. The perfect base for outdoor-loving couples or small families; embark on scenic hikes along the picturesque trails that wind through the national park, offering awe-inspiring views of rolling hills, cascading waterfalls, and lush valleys. Explore historic landmarks such as Brecon Cathedral (4.5 miles) or the ruins of Tretower Court (17.5 miles), where tales of the past come to life. For outdoor pursuits, enjoy fishing or canoeing along the tranquil waters of the River Usk, or venture to Llangorse Lake (12.5 miles) for sailing and windsurfing adventures. Wildlife lovers can spot rare species in their natural habitat at the Brecon Beacons National Park Visitor Centre (5.5 miles), while stargazers will marvel at the clarity of the night sky, designated as an International Dark Sky Reserve. After a day of exploration, unwind with a visit to local pubs, where you can savour hearty Welsh cuisine. Stay at this cottage when visiting one of the many festivals in the area - Brecon Jazz, Hay festival, Green Man or the Abergavenny Food festival.

As you step inside and into the spacious, rustic kitchen, the original wooden beams and exposed brick walls evoke a sense of timeless charm. To the right, you enter the cosy living room; perfect for unwinding by the crackling fireplace after a busy day of exploring. When stomachs start to rumble, the charming, country-style kitchen is well-equipped with all you need to whip up holiday feasts, which can be enjoyed from the inviting dining table. After a cosy evening in front of the Smart TV, retire to bed and choose from two welcoming bedrooms – both with double beds. One bedroom benefits from a well-appointed en-suite shower room, while the other is served by the family bathroom.

The cottage is lovely - it is spacious, beautifully decorated and very comfortable with everything you could need. A really nice outside area in the front for breakfast or star gazing was great. Very good location - quiet, lovely walks from the door but also just a short drive from Brecon. Warm hospitality too.

We would highly recommend this property. It was well maintained & tastefully decorated but also homely and relaxing. Marc was so welcoming and friendly but then retreated tactfully into the background, in fact the perfect host. We would have had no hesitation in seeking his advice or help if needed.

Great place to stay. Host was very welcoming and cottage was spotless. Warm cosy and everything you could wish for in quite rural Wales .
